Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi hubungan antara ketakutan akan kegagalan dengan prokrastinasi akademik pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir di masa pandemi Covid-19. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional. Adapun jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini yaitu 361 mahasiswa dari jumlah populasi sebesar 1374 mahasiswa. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik convenience sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen The Performance Failure Appraisal Inventory dan Procrastination Assessment Scale – Student yang telah diadaptasi oleh peneliti. Instrumen ini telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya dengan koefisien validitas masing-masing instrumen yaitu 0.64-0.85 dan 0.24-0.62. Sedangkan uji reliabilitas menggunakan Cronbach’s Alpha dan dihasilkan reliabilitas pada variabel ketakutan akan kegagalan sebesar 0.96 serta pada variabel prokrastinasi akademik sebesar 0.83. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh yaitu terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan sebesar 0.256 antara ketakutan akan kegagalan dengan prokrastinasi akademik pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir di masa pandemi Covid-19. Mahasiswa tingkat akhir memiliki ketakutan akan kegagalan dan memutuskan untuk melakukan prokrastinasi akademik. ***** This study aims to determine the relationship between fear of failure and academic procrastination in final-level students during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research used correlation method with quantitative approach. As for the number of samples in the study were 361 students from a population of 1374 students and the sampling used covenience sampling technique. The data collection is done by using two instruments, The Performance Failure Appraisal Inventory and Procrastination Assessment Scale – Student which was adapted by the researcher. The Instruments has been tested for validity and reliability with the coefficient of validity of each instrument is 0.64-0.85 and 0.24-0.62. While the reliability with alpha value of 0.96 for fear of failure and 0.83 for academic procrastination. According to the result analysis, it showed that there is a significant positive relationship of 0.256 between fear of failure and academic procrastination in final-level students during the covid-19 pandemic. Final year students have a fear of failure and decide to procrastinate the thesis.
