Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh yang dimiliki tiga dimensi dari dark triad personality terhadap tingkat incivility di dunia maya. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan analisis regresi linear berganda. Sampel dalam penelitian ini merupakan 427 pengguna aktif media sosial yang berdomisili di Indonesia. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Short Dark Triad Scale oleh Jones & Paulhus serta Cyber Incivility Measure oleh Lim & Teo (2009). Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa nilai p (0,000) < α (0,05). Hasil dari penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa terdapat pengaruh ketiga dimensi dark triad personality secara bersamaan terhadap tingkat incivility di dunia maya, di mana kepribadian psikopati keluar sebagai dimensi yang memiliki pengaruh terhadap variabel terikat tersebut. Pengaruh yang dimiliki sebesar 16,5% dengan arah positif, sehingga semakin tinggi tingkat psikopati yang dimiliki oleh seseorang, maka semakin tinggi pula tingkat pengalamannya terkait incivility di dunia maya. ****** This study aims to determine the impact of the three dimensions of the dark triad personality on the level of cyber incivility. This research used quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis. The sample used in this study was 427 active media social users who live in Indonesia. Dark triad personality was measured with the Short Dark Triad Scale by Jones & Paulhus (2014), while cyber incivility was measured using the Cyber Incivility Measure by Lim & Teo (2009). Statistical analysis shows that p (0,000) < α (0,05). Thus, the results of this research states that the three dimensions of dark triad personality have a simultaneous impact on cyber incivility level, with psychopathy trait emerging as the dimension that has an impact on the said dependent variable. The impact weighs 16,5% with a positive direction, which means the higher the psychopathy trait an individual posses, the higher level of cyber incivility they experience.
