Abstract

ABSTRAK Muhammad Sidik. TRADISI NGASA DALAM MENINGKATKAN KERUKUNAN MASYARAKAT (Studi Masyarakat Kampung Budaya Jalawastu Brebes). Skripsi. Jakarta. Pendidikan Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial. Fakultas Ilmu Sosial. Universitas Negeri Jakarta. 2023. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perkembangan dan peran tradisi adat ngasa dalam meningkatkan kerukunan masyarakat Jalawastu desa Cisureh, kecamatan Ketanggungan, Kabupaten Brebes dalam menghadapi perkembangan tekhnologi di era globalisasi. Metodologi yang digunakan adalah kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan kegiatan wawancara, studi pustaka dan observasi. Metode yang digunakan dalam analisis data adalah reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Tradisi Ngasa oleh Masyarakat Kampung Budaya Jalawastu menjadi sebuah media bagi para masyarakat Jalawastu dan sekitarnya dalam rangka meningkatkan kerukunan yang telah terjalin sejak lama. Tradisi ini tetap bertahan dengan berbagai usaha dari masyarakat diantaranya yaitu dengan cara pendekatan keluarga secara turun – menurun, pembentukan Kampung Budaya Jalawastu, pengembangan tahapan perayaan adat Ngasa, pelaksanaan sekolah lapang (sekolah kebudayaan Jalawastu) yang beranggotakan para masyarakat Jalawastu dengan peserta dari para pemuda Jalawastu dan dusun sekitarnya, serta dengan pengajuan program – program peningkatan pelaksanaan tradisi Ngasa kepada pemerintah pusat melalui Desa. Bentuk Tradisi Adat Ngasa oleh masyarakat Jalawastu saat ini telah mengalami perubahan dan inovasi, namun nilai dan makna yang dipertahankan oleh masyarakat. Nilai-nilai kerukunan dalam tradisi Ngasa masyarakat Jalawastu ada 3 yaitu: toleransi, kesetaraan dan kerja sama yang ada dalam setiap tahapan tradisi Ngasa masyarakat Jalawastu. Berdasarkan ketiga nilai tersebut, nilai kerja sama memiliki peran paling utama dalam menjaga tradisi ini. Kata Kunci: Tradisi Adat Ngasa, Kerukunan, Jalawastu. ABSTRACT Muhammad Sidik. This study aims to determine the development and role of the traditional ngasa tradition in increasing the cohesion of the Jalawastu community in Cisureh village, Keuntungan sub-district, Brebes Regency in dealing with technological developments in the era of globalization. The methodology used is qualitative. Data collection techniques were carried out by interviews, literature study and observation. The methods used in data analysis are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the Ngasa Tradition by the Jalawastu Cultural Village Community has become a medium for the Jalawastu community and its surroundings in order to increase the harmony that has existed for a long time. This tradition persists with various efforts from the community, including by way of a family approach from generation to generation, the formation of the Jalawastu Cultural Village, the development of the stages of the Ngasa traditional celebration, the implementation of a field school (Jalawastu cultural school) consisting of Jalawastu people with participants from Jalawastu youths. and the surrounding hamlets, as well as by submitting programs to improve the implementation of the Ngasa tradition to the central government through the village. The form of the Ngasa Traditional Tradition by the Jalawastu people has now undergone changes and innovations, but the values and meanings are maintained by the community. There are 3 values of harmony in the Ngasa tradition of the Jalawastu community, namely: tolerance, equality and cooperation that exist in every stage of the Ngasa tradition of the Jalawastu community. Based on these three values, the value of cooperation has the most important role in maintaining this tradition. Keywords: Ngasa Traditional Tradition, Harmony, Jalawastu
