Abstract

AFIFAH GENIA PUTRI, Pemikiran Mochtar Lubis terhadap Permasalahan Politik Masa Demokrasi Liberal di Indonesia (1952 – 1957). Skripsi. Jakarta: Program Studi Pendidikan Sejarah, Fakultas Ilmu Sosial, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, 2023. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan bagaimana pemikiran Mochtar Lubis sebagai seorang wartawan mengenai permasalahan politik masa demokrasi liberal yang didasarkan pada keadaan politik masa itu yang tidak stabil. Metode yang digunakan untuk kajian penelitian ini adalah metode historis,yang terdiri dari pengumpulan sumber (heuristik), kritik sumber (verifikasi), interpretasi dan historiografi. Penelitian ini ditulis dalam bentuk deskritif-naratif, dengan menjelaskan tentang bagaimana pemikiran Mochtar Lubis terbentuk hingga mempengaruhi cara pandangannya terkait situasi permasalahan politik di masa demokrasi liberal. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa sebagai seorang wartawan, Mochtar Lubis memiliki pemikiran yang kritis dan juga berani. Hal ini dapat dilihat melalui tajuk rencana yang dimuat dalam surat kabar Indonesia Raya. Mochtar Lubis dalam menyampaikan pemikirannya dengan menitikberatkan kepada kebenaran, berpihak kepada masyarakat serta terbuka dengan informasi yang didapatkan. Mochtar Lubis menilai bahwa masyarakat yang tidak memiliki kekuasaan terabaikan oleh pemerintah. Meskipun pada akhirnya ada konsekuensi atas sikapnya ini yang berujung pada penahanan serta pembredelan surat kabar Indonesia Raya., apa yang dilakukan oleh Mochtar Lubis mencerminkan masyarakat yang kritis dan juga terbuka pemikirannya terhadap kondisi yang sedang terjadi. Jakarta: History Education Study Program, Faculty of Social Sciences, State University of Jakarta, 2023. This research aims to explain how Mochtar Lubis thought as a journalist about the political problems of the liberal democracy period based on the unstable political situation at that time. The method used for this research study is the historical method, which consists of source collection (heuristics), source criticism (verification), interpretation and historiography. This research is written in a descriptive-narrative form, explaining how Mochtar Lubis' thoughts were formed and how they influenced his views on political issues during the liberal democratic era. The results of this research show that as a journalist, Mochtar Lubis had a critical and courageous mind. This can be seen through the editorials published in Indonesia Raya newspaper. In conveying his thoughts, Mochtar Lubis emphasized the truth, sided with the public and was open with the information obtained. Mochtar Lubis considered that people who did not have power were neglected by the government. Although in the end there were consequences for his attitude which led to the detention and banning of the Indonesia Raya newspaper, what Mochtar Lubis did reflected a critical society and was also open to thinking about the conditions that were happening.
