Abstract

Lemahnya performa siswa Indonesia dalam survei matematika PISA 2018 dan tahun sebelumnya menunjukkan bahwa HOTS siswa Indonesia masih rendah. Berbagai upaya telah dilakukan untuk meningkatkan HOTS siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah HOTS siswa dapat ditingkatkan dengan menggunakan pendekatan RME. Secara lebih khusus dalam penelitian ini pengaruh pendekatan RME terhadap peningkatan HOTS akan ditinjau dari motivasi belajar siswa dan dengan mengontrol IQ siswa. Desain penelitian yang digunakan dalam pengujian adalah pretest-posttest control group design dan implementasi rancangan penelitiannya desain factorial by level (2 X 3). Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XII SMK jurusan Otomatisasi Tata Kelola Perkantoran (OTKP) di wilayah Jakarta Timur II. Teknik Pengambilan sampel dengan cluster random sampling dan terpilih sampel penelitian sebanyak 110 siswa kelas XII SMK jurusan OTKP dari dua sekolah di Jakarta Timur II Tahun Pelajaran 2022/2023. Analisis data dilakukan dengan Two Way Anakova. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan HOTS siswa yang diajar dengan pendekatan RME lebih tinggi dibanding siswa yang diajar dengan pembelajaran konvensional setelah mengontrol IQ, terdapat perbedaan peningkatan HOTS pada siswa dengan motivasi tinggi, sedang, dan rendah setelah mengontrol IQ, dan terdapat interaksi antara pendekatan pembelajaran dan motivasi belajar terhadap peningkatan HOTS setelah mengontrol IQ siswa. **** The weak performance of Indonesian students in the 2018 PISA math survey and the previous year shows that the HOTS of Indonesian students is still low. Various efforts have been made to improve students' HOTS. This study aims to determine whether students' HOTS improvement can be improved by using the RME approach. More specifically in this study, the effect of the RME approach on HOTS will be examined from students' learning motivation and by controlling students' IQ. The research design used is pretest-posttest control group design and the implementation of the research design is factorial design by level (2 X 3). The population in this study were XII grade students of SMK majoring in Office Management Automation (OTKP) in the East Jakarta II area. The sampling technique was cluster random sampling and the research sample was selected as many as 110 XII grade students of SMK majoring in OTKP from two schools in East Jakarta II in the 2022/2023 academic year. Data analysis was carried out with Two Way Anakova. The results showed that the HOTS improvement of students taught with the RME approach was higher than students taught with conventional learning after controlling for IQ, there were differences in HOTS improvement among students with high, medium, and low motivation after controlling for IQ, and there was an interaction between learning approaches and learning motivation on HOTS improvement after controlling for student IQ.
