Abstract

Sedekah laut dilaksanakan sebagai bentuk rasa syukur masyarakat terhadap hasil laut yang melimpah juga rasa syukur atas keselamatan dan keberkahan yang telah diberikan oleh Allah SWT dalam menjalani aktivitas sebagai nelayan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yang pertama adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat kepercayaan masyarakat nelayan terhadap upacara sedekah laut, yang kedua adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat pendapatan nelayan di Desa Gempolsewu, yang ketiga adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat partisipasi nelayan dalam upacara sedekah laut di Desa Gempolsewu dan yang keempat adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan dari sistem kepercayaan dan jenis pekerjaan terhadap partisipasi nelayan dalam upacara adat sedekah laut di Desa Gempolsewu, Kecamatan Rowosari, Kabupaten Kendal, Jawa Tengah. Penelitian ini menggunkan metode penelitian mixed methods, dan menggunakan teknik survei untuk pengumpulan data. Hasil dari penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa tingkat kepercayaan masyarakat nelayan terhadap upacara adat sedekah laut masuk ke dalam kategori tinggi, tingkat pendapatan masyarakat nelayan masuk ke dalam kategori sedang, dan untuk tingkat partisipasi nelayan masuk ke dalam kategori tinggi. Untuk hubungan sistem kepercayaan dan jenis pekerjaan tidak menunjukkan hubungan yang positif dengan partisipasi nelayan dalam upacara adat sedekah laut di Desa Gempolsewu, Kecamatan Rowosari, Kabupaten Kendal, Jawa Tengah. *** Sea alms are held as a form of community gratitude for the abundant sea products as well as gratitude for the safety and blessings that have been given by Allah SWT in carrying out activities as fishermen. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of belief of the fishing community in the sea alms ceremony, the second is to determine the income level of fishermen in Gempolsewu Village, the third is to determine the level of participation of fishermen in the sea alms ceremony in Gempolsewu Village and the fourth is to determine the relationship of the belief system and type of work to the participation of fishermen in the sea alms ceremony in Gempolsewu Village, Rowosari District, Kendal Regency, Central Java. This research utilizes mixed methods research and uses survey techniques for data collection. The results of this study state that the level of belief of the fishing community in the sea alms ceremony is in the high category, the income level of the fishing community is in the medium category, and for the level of fishermen's participation is in the high category. The relationship between belief system and job type does not show a positive relationship with fishermen's participation in the sea alms ceremony in Gempolsewu Village, Rowosari District, Kendal Regency, Central Java.
