Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui alasan, jalannya perkembangan suatu organisasi jawatan kepolisian Indonesia turut andil dalam mempertahankan dan mengamankan kemerdekaan Indonesia. Khususnya bagamana fungsi dan peran kepolisian Indonesia dalam menghadapi suatu masalah dalam negeri. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode sejarah dan hasilnya disajikan dalam bentuk deskriptif-naratif. Penelitian ini membahas mengenai sejarah lahirnya Jawatan Kepolisian Republik Indonesia yang menjadi bagian alat perjuangan mempertahankan dan mengamankan Kemerdekaan Indonesia pada tahun 1945-1950. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian sejarah. Sumber yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa sumber primer dan sumber sekunder. Sumber primer yang digunakan berupa arsip,wawancara, koran dan majalah sezaman. Sedangkan sumber sekunder yang digunakan adalah buku yang berkaitan dengan tema penelitian. Perkembangan Jawatan Kepolisian Republik Indonesia merupakan alat perjuangan mempertahankan Kemerdekaan Indonesia sama seperti TNI Pembentukannya pada tahun sebelum kemerdekaan Indonesia sudah ada, namun awal Kemerdekaan dibentuk lebih jelas susunan organisasi Kepolisian bertujuan dalam Sidang Panitia Persiapan Kemerdekaan Indonesia (PPKI) pada sidangnya hari kedua tanggal 19 Agustus 1945 memasukan Kepolisian dalam lingkungan Departemen Dalam Negeri. Dengan demikian status Djawatan Kepolisian Negera (DKN) secara administrative mempunyai kedudukan yang sama dengan Dinas Polisi Umum pada masa penjajahan Belanda Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa Jawatan Kepolisian sebagai alat Perjuangan untuk mempertahankan Kemerdekaan Indonesia dan turut membantu mengamankan situasi pasca Kemerdekaan bersama TKR dan Laskar-laskar lainnya. Dengan hasil Pada tanggal 19 Agustus 1945 juga dibentuk Badan Kepolisan Negara (BKN), Pembentukan BKN berdasarkan keputusan Panitia Pesiapan Kemerdekaan Indonesia (PPKI). Di samping Badan Keamanan Rakyat (BKR) dan badan-badan perjuangan terdapat pula pemuda-pemuda polisi. Mereka berasal dari kesatuan-kesatuan polisi yang dibentuk oleh Pemerintah pendudukan Jepang seperti, Keisatsutai (Pasukan Polisi) dan Tokubetsu Keisatsutai (Pasukan Polisi Istimewa). Dengan dipelopori oleh angkatan mudanya maka kesatuan-kesatuan polisi ini kemudian menyatakan dirinya sebagai Polisi Republik Indonesia, meskipun pada waktu itu mereka belum terorganisir dengan resmi. Jakarta: Historical Education Study Program, Faculty of Social Sciences, Jakarta State University, January 2020 This research aims to know the reason, the building process, the development of an Indonesian Police Service Organization. Specifically, how is the function and role of the Indonesian Police in dealing with a domestic problem. The research uses history method and the results is shown as desciptive narrative writing. This study discusses the history of the birth of the Indonesian National Police Office which was part of the instrument of the struggle to defend and secure Indonesian Independence in 1945-1950. This research uses historical research methods. The sources used in this study are primary and secondary sources. Primary sources used in the form of archives, interviews, newspapers and periodicals. While the secondary sources used are books relating to the research theme. The development of the Indonesian National Police Service is a tool for the struggle to defend Indonesian Independence just like the TNI. the beginning of Independence was formed more clearly the organizational structure of the Police aims at the Indonesian Independence Preparatory Committee Session (PPKI) at its second day on August 19, 1945 including the Police within the Ministry of the Interior, thus the status of the National Police Department (DKN) administratively has the same position as the General Police Service during the Dutch colonial period The results of the study concluded that the Police Department as a Struggle tool to defend Indonesian Independence and helped to secure the post-Independence situation with TKR and other warriors.With the results On August 19, 1945 the National Police Board (BKN) was formed, the formation of the BKN was based on the decision of the Indonesian Independence Preparedness Committee (PPKI). Besides the People's Security Agency (BKR) and the struggle agencies there are also young men of police. They came from police units formed by the Japanese occupation Government, such as Keisatsutai (Police Force) and Tokubetsu Keisatsutai (Special Police Force). Pioneered by his youth, these police units later declared themselves Police of the Republic of Indonesia, although at that time they were not officially organized.
