Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejarah berdirinya tempat ibadah agama Kristen Protestan dalam hal ini Gereja Huria Kristen Batak Protestan (HKBP) Palmerah Petamburan dan perkembangannya dimana saat itu Gereja Huria Kristen Batak Protestan (HKBP) Palmerah Petamburan didirikan pada tahun 1974 berstatus jemaat cabang (Huria Pagaran) dan kemudian berkembang menjadi sebuah Ressort pada tahun 2014 yang bisa mengurus dalam hal ini rumah tangganya untuk melakukan pelayanan yang lebih lanjut. Metode yang digunakan untuk kajian penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian historis yang terdiri dari pemilihan topik, heuristik, verifikasi, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa berdirinya Gereja Huria Kristen Batak Protestan (HKBP) Palmerah Petamburan terjadi pada awalnya dikarenakan beberapa jemaat Gereja Huria Kristen Batak Protestan (HKBP) Ressort Slipi yang memisahkan diri dari keanggotaan jemaat karena adanya permasalahan yang terjadi di internal, yaitu penolakan terhadap Pdt. Alfred Silitonga menjadi pendeta Ressort. Semakin bertambahnya jumlah jemaat dari waktu ke waktu maka gereja mengambil jalan untuk memantapkan gereja yang tadinya merupakan jemaat cabang (Huria Pagaran) menjadi Ressort yang mandiri dalam mengurus rumah tangganya sendiri kemudian meningkatkan pelayanan jemaat baik pelayanan rohani maupun sosial. Kehadiran dari Gereja Huria Kristen Batak Protestan (HKBP) Palmerah Petamburan mendapatkan respon positif, toleransi yang tinggi dan tanpa ada suatu gangguan dari masyarakat sekitar karena jemaat gereja yang tinggal di Palmerah Petamburan sudah berbaur dengan masyarakat sekitar dan juga sumbangsih gereja terhadap masyarakat sekitar yang telah melakukan pelayanan bukan hanya jemaat saja maupun sosial kepada masyarakat sekitar dalam bidang kesehatan. Kata Kunci: Gereja, HKBP, Ressort ***** This research aims to find out the history of the establishment of Protestant Christian places of worship, in this case the Batak Protestant Christian Huria Church (HKBP) Ressort Palmerah Petamburan and its development where at that time the Batak Protestant Christian Huria Church (HKBP) Palmerah Petamburan was established in 1974 with the status of a branch congregation (Huria Pagaran) and then developed into a Ressort in 2014 that could take care of in this case its household to carry out good services. The method used for this research study is a historical research method consisting of topic selection, heuristics, verification, interpretation, and historiography. The results showed that the establishment of the Batak Protestant Christian Huria Church (HKBP) Palmerah Petamburan occurred initially due to several congregations of the Batak Protestant Christian Huria Church (HKBP) Ressort Slipi who separated themselves from church membership due to internal problems, namely the rejection of Rev. Alfred Silitonga to become the priest of the Ressort. As the number of congregations increased over time, the church took the path to establish the church that was once a branch congregation (Huria Pagaran) into an independent Ressort in managing its own household and then improving congregational services both spiritual and social services. The presence of the Batak Protestant Christian Huria Church (HKBP) Palmerah Petamburan received a positive response, high tolerance and without any interference from the surrounding community because the church congregation living in Palmerah Petamburan has mingled with the surrounding community and also the church's contribution to the surrounding community who have carried out services not only congregation or social to the surrounding community in the field of health.
