Abstract

******ABSTRACT***** Community of inquiry (CoI) framework is one of framework for online learning. This framework offers a deep experience and meaningful online learning. One of the elements in Community of inquiry framework is social presence. Social presence is the ability of students to project themselves as a real person in academic environment. This study shares the results of a study that analyses social presence in an online learning which is conducted synchronously through zoom meeting platform by teacher’s and student’s interaction. The findings indicate that interactive category is a main driver in student’s talks, followed by cohesive and affective category. furthermore, in teacher’s talk, interactive category as a main driver, followed by cohesive and affective category. The study discovered that social presence causes participants to actively participate in the discussions, which allows for real-world teaching and learning to take place in a classroom setting. *******ABSTRAK******** Community of Inquiry (CoI) framework merupakan salah satu framework dalam pembelajaran daring. Kerangka kerja ini menawarkan pengalaman mendalam dan pembelajaran online yang bermakna. Salah satu elemen dalam community of inquiry adalah kehadiran sosial. Kehadiran sosial merupakan kemampuan mahasiswa untuk memproyeksikan dirinya sebagai pribadi nyata dalam lingkungan akademik. Penelitian ini memaparkan hasil penelitian yang menganalisis kehadiran sosial dalam pembelajaran daring yang dilakukan secara serempak melalui platform zoom meeting melalui interaksi guru dan siswa. Temuannya menunjukkan bahwa kategori interaktif menjadi pendorong utama pembicaraan siswa, diikuti oleh kategori kohesif dan afektif. Selanjutnya dalam interaksi guru, kategori interaktif sebagai penggerak utama, disusul kategori kohesif dan afektif. Studi ini menemukan bahwa kehadiran sosial menyebabkan peserta berpartisipasi aktif dalam diskusi, sehingga proses belajar mengajar di dunia nyata dapat dilakukan di ruang kelas.
