Abstract

Dalam pendidikan sains, terutama kimia, kemajuan teknologi seperti VR belum digunakan secara optimal yang menyebabkan siswa pasif dalam pembelajaran sehingga ditemukan rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah secara kreatif siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan virtual reality terhadap disposisi berpikir desain dan academic achievment pada topik elektrokimia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian quasi-experimental menggunakan pre-test dan post-test pada kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Sebanyak 72 siswa kelas XII dari 2 kelas utuh di sebuah sekolah menengah atas di Jakarta dipilih menjadi sampel penelitian. Sampel dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Siswa kelompok eksperimen menggunakan teknologi VR, sedangkan siswa klompok kontrol menggunakan PPT dan Video. Design thinking disposition scale sebanyak 18 pernyataan diberikan kepada kedua kelompok sebelum dan sesudah intervensi selama empat minggu. Data yang diperoleh di analisis menggunakan independent t-test dan paired sample t-test. Hasil uji-t menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran elektrokimia menggunakan VR pada kelompok ekperimen lebih efektif untuk meningkatkan disposisi berpikir desain dibandingkan kelompok kontrol (nonVR). In science education, especially chemistry, technological advances such as VR have not been used optimally. This causes students to be passive in learning so students' creative problem-solving abilities are found to be low. This research aims to determine the effect of using virtual reality on design thinking disposition and academic achievement on the topic of electrochemistry. This research uses quantitative methods with a quasi-experimental research design using pre-tests and post-tests in the experimental group and control group. 72 class XII students from 2 intact classes at a high school in Jakarta were selected as research samples. The sample was divided into two groups, namely the experimental group and the control group. The experimental group students used VR technology, while the control group students used PPT and Video. A design thinking disposition scale of 18 statements was given to both groups before and after the intervention for four weeks. The data obtained were analyzed using an independent t-test and paired sample t-test. The t-test results showed that electrochemistry learning using VR in the experimental group was more effective in improving design thinking disposition than the control group (non-VR).
