Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi jenis-jenis bahasa gaul, strategi penerjemahan yang digunakan untuk menerjemahkan bahasa gaul Indonesia ke dalam bahasa Inggris, dan kualitas terjemahan dalam webtoon "Romance Punch". Dengan menggunakan metodologi kualitatif deskriptif, penelitian ini mengklasifikasikan bahasa gaul berdasarkan jenis-jenis bahasa gaul menurut Allan dan Burridge (2006) serta strategi penerjemahan menurut Vinay dan Darbelnet (1995). Data tersebut kemudian dianalisis menggunakan Translation Quality Assessment (TQA) dari Nababan (2012). Penelitian ini mengidentifikasi 63 data bahasa gaul. Kelima jenis slang ditemukan, dengan jenis Imitative yang paling banyak ditemukan, yaitu 27 data. Ketujuh strategi penerjemahan diidentifikasi, dengan strategi Kesepadanan yang paling sering digunakan dengan 28 data. Nilai rata-rata untuk Keakuratan, Keberterimaan, dan Keterbacaan masing-masing adalah 2.4, 2.5, dan 2.7. Kualitas terjemahan rata-rata memiliki skor 2.5, yang menunjukkan kualitas yang baik. Penelitian ini meningkatkan pemahaman tentang bahasa gaul dan strategi penerjemahan yang efektif. ***** This study aims to identify the type of slang, the translation strategy used for translating Indonesian slang into English, and the translation quality in the “Romance Punch” webtoon. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative methodology, this study classifies slang based on Allan and Burridge's (2006) types of slang and Vinay and Darbelnet's (1995) translation strategies. The data then analysed using Nababan's Translation Quality Assessment (TQA) (2012). The study identified 63 data of slang. All five types of slang were found, with the Imitative type being the most frequent with 27 data. All seven translation strategies were identified, with the Equivalence strategy being the most commonly used with 28 data. The average scores for Accuracy, Acceptability, and Readability were 2.4, 2.5, and 2.7, respectively. The translation quality averaged a score of 2.5, indicating good quality. This study enhances understanding of slang and effective translation strategies.
