Abstract

******ABSTRAK***** Balikan rekan adalah proses pemberian komentar tertulis atau lisan dari rekan terhadap kinerja orang lain. Balikan dari rekan merupakan bagian dari siklus praktik microteaching bersama dengan aktivitas lainnya. Balikan dari rekan di kelas microteaching merupakan kegiatan penting yang dapat meningkatkan keterampilan mengajar guru pra-jabatan. Studi ini menyelidiki bagaimana balikan rekan digunakan dan menentukan persepsi guru pra-jabatan tentang penggunaan balikan rekan di kelas microteaching. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, dipilih desain survei untuk menguji hubungan antar variabel. Dua kelas Microteaching di Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Universitas Negeri Jakarta angkatan 2021 menyelesaikan kuesioner terkait persepsi guru pra-jabatan terhadap balik rekan terkait dengan pemikiran, keyakinan, perasaan, prestasi akademik, dan pertumbuhan pribadi mereka. Pengumpulan data juga dilakukan dengan observasi kelas dan wawancara. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa menggunakan aktivitas balikan rekan sejawat sebagai alat untuk meningkatkan keterampilan mengajar mereka. Penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar calon guru memiliki persepsi positif terhadap masukan dari teman sejawatnya. Persepsi positif ini juga menunjukkan bagaimana calon guru merasa bahwa balikan dari teman sebaya bermanfaat bagi pencapaian akademik dan pertumbuhan pribadi mereka. *****ABSTRACT****** Peer feedback is the process of providing written or oral remarks from peers to others' performance. Peer feedback is a part of the cycle in microteaching practice along with other activities. Peer feedback in microteaching classes is an important activity that could improve pre-service teachers’ teaching skills. This study investigates how peer feedback is used and the pre-service teachers’ perception of the use of peer feedback in microteaching classes. To achieve the objective, a survey design was chosen to examine the relation between variables. Two classes of Microteaching in English Language Education Study Program Universitas Negeri Jakarta batch 2021 completed the questionnaire related to the pre-service teachers’ perception of peer feedback related to their thoughts, beliefs, feelings, academic achievement, and personal growth. The data was also collected by classroom observation and interviews. The research uncovered that pre-service teachers’ used peer feedback activity as a tool to improve their teaching skills. The research also showed that the majority of pre-service teachers had a positive perception of peer feedback. This positive perception also shows how pre-service teachers feel that peer feedback is beneficial for their academic achievement and their personal growth.
