Abstract
******************************************************* The use of catalysts in the electrooxidation of ethanol has received wide attention because of its potential application to generate electric power through ethanol fuel cells. In this study, Bimetal AuPt was used as a catalyst, to determine the catalytic activity of AuPt for electrooxidation of ethanol. Bimetal AuPt nanoparticles have been successfully synthesized through the electrodeposition method using the square wave pulse deposition technique. This technique was chosen because it has advantages in controlling the morphology of the particles to be synthesized. This study varied the upper stress to determine the performance of ethanol oxidation activity. As a result, the best catalyst for electrooxidation of ethanol that was successfully synthesized in this study was AuPt/FTO 0.80 V, because it had the highest ethanol oxidation activity value.
