Abstract
Penyu sisik adalah organisme ikonik hidup di perairan laut. Ditinjau keberadaannya secara global. Ancaman utama populasi penyu saat ini yaitu pengaruh dampak antropogenik, degradasi area situs bersarang, dan perburuan telur penyu. Penurunan populasi yang tinggi menetapkan penyu sisik sebagai satwa terancam punah berdasarkan data merah (red list) IUCN. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persebaran situs bersarang penyu sisik, karakteristik biofisik sarang dan kecenderungan pemilihan lokasi berarang penyu sisik di Pulau Sabira. Pengambilan data dilaksanakan pada September-November 2021. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan teknik observasi. Data yang diperoleh di analisis menggunakan uji non parametris (Mann Whitney) dengan aplikasi SPSS. Hasil pengukuran diperoleh lebar pantai berkisar 15-19 meter, kemiringan pantai 30°, suhu pasir 27,45°C, substrat pasir 1,1-3,7 mm, pasir pantai mudah digali, pH sarang 5,1, dan tutupan kanopi 92,5%. Seluruh data ditabulasikan dalam bentuk tabel, grafik dan deskriptif. Hasil penelitian diperoleh sebanyak 20 situs sarang penyu sisik (Eretmochelys imbricata) ditemukan tersebar pada satu area terbatas di pantai Utara Pulau Sabira. Karakteristik pantai di Pulau Sabira tergolong cocok sebagai lokasi bersarang penyu sisik. Berdasarkan hasil uji normalitas dan Uji Mann Whitney, penyu di Pulau Sabira tidak terlalu rumit dalam hal pemilihan situs bersarang yang ditunjukkan dengan kecenderungan yang sangat terbatas hanya pada variabel lebar pantai saja. Dalam hal ini, penyu sisik di Pulau Sabira lebih menyukai situs bersarang yang dekat dengan bibir pantai. ************************************** Hawksbill turtle is an iconic organism that lives in marine waters. Its existence is reviewed globally. The main threats to turtle populations that occur today are anthropogenic impacts, degradation of nesting sites, and egg hunting. The high population decline establishes the hawksbill turtle as an endangered animal based on the IUCN red list. This study aims to determine the distribution of nesting sites, the biophysical characteristics of the nests, and the tendency to choose the location of the hawksbill turtle nesting on Sabira Island. Data collection was carried out in September-November 2022. The method used was descriptive with observation techniques. The data obtained were analyzed using a non-parametric test (Mann Whitney) using the SPSS application. The measurement results show that the beach width ranges from 15-19 meters, the beach slope is 30°, the sand temperature is 27.45, the sand substrate consists of non-solid sand with a grain size of 1.1-3.7 mm, the nest pH is 5.1, the cover canopy is 92.5%. All data are tabulated in the form of tables, graphs and are described descriptively. The results show that 20 hawksbill nest sites (Eretmochelys imbricata) were found scattered in a limited area on the north coast of Sabira Island. The characteristics of the beach on Sabira Island are classified as suitable as a nesting location for hawksbill turtles. Based on the results of the normality test and the Mann Whitney Uji Test, turtles on Sabira Island are not too complicated in choosing nesting sites, which is indicated by a very limited tendency to only the width of the beach. Side turtles prefer nesting sites close to the shoreline.
