Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memfotopolimerisasi produk blending dari kristal cair RM82 dengan Metil Metakrilat (MMA) menggunakan metode uv curing. Sinar uv akan mempercepat pengeringan kristal cair dengan polimer yang digunakan melalui penambahan inisiator Benzoil Peroksida (BPO) sehingga terbentuk jaringan polimer baru. Polimerisasi dilakukan pada variasi 125℃, 150℃ dan 200℃ dalam waktu 5 menit. Thin film yang difotopolimerisasi pada suhu 125℃ dan 150℃ secara penampilan lebih terlihat transparan dibandingkan dengan thin film yang difotopolimerisasi pada suhu 200℃. Hasil FTIR secara keseluruhan mengindikasikan terputusnya gugus vinyl dan ikatan rangkap tiga. Hasil SEM menunjukkan variasi thin film 200℃ telah terdeformasi. Hasil XRD menunjukkan bahwa thin film dari semua variasi bersifat semi kristalin. Uji konduktivitas menunjukkan thin film yang difotopolimerisasi pada suhu 125℃ memiliki nilai konduktivitas sebesar 2,095 x 10-12 S sedangkan thin film yang difotopolimerisasi pada suhu 150℃ memiliki konduktivitas sebesar 2,14 x 10-12 S. *********************************************** The purpose of this study was to photopolimerize thin film from liquid crystal of Reactive Mesogen (RM82) with Methyl Methacrylate (MMA) using uv curing method. The uv light will accelerate the drying of liquid crystals with the polymer used through the addition of a Benzoyl Peroxide (BPO) initiator to form a new polymer network. Polymerization was carried out at variations of 125℃, 150℃ and 200℃ within 5 minutes. Thin film photopolymerized at 125℃ and 150℃ looks more transparent than thin film photopolymerized at 200℃. The overall FTIR results indicate the breakdown of the vinyl group and the triple bond. The SEM results show that the 200℃ thin film has been deformed. XRD results a show that thin films of all variations is semicrystalline. Meanwhile, the conductivity test showed that the thin film photopolymerized at 125℃ had a conductivity value of 2.095 x 10-12 S, while the photopolymerized thin film at 150℃ had a conductivity of 2.14 x 10-12 S.
