Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan gambaran pemahaman konsep siswa pada pembelajaran sistem koloid dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Learning Cycle 5E. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMAN 59 Jakarta, dan waktu penelitiannya yaitu pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2021/2022. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 40 siswa kelas XI MIPA 3, dan pembelajaran dilaksanakan secara tatap muka. Metode penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif, di mana data diperoleh dari lembar observasi, lembar pemahaman konsep siswa, reflektif jurnal, catatan guru, tes akhir pemahaman konsep, dan wawancara. Model Learning Cycle 5E terdiri dari lima tahapan pembelajaran, diantaranya; Engagement, Exploration, Explanation, Elaboration, dan Evaluation. Tingkat pemahaman konsep siswa dianalisis menggunakan kategori tingkat pemahaman konsep yang diadaptasi dari Abraham et al. (1992) yaitu paham, kurang paham, miskonsepsi, dan tidak paham. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa masuk ke dalam kategori “paham” dengan persentase sebesar 73%. Kesimpulan yang dapat ditarik dari penelitian ini yaitu model Learning Cycle 5E dapat membantu siswa dalam mengembangkan pemahaman konsepnya pada materi sistem koloid. ****************************************************** This study was aimed to obtain an overview of students’ conceptual understanding in colloidal system learning using the 5E Learning Cycle Model. This research was carried out at SMAN 59 Jakarta, and the time of the research was in the even semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. The research subjects consisted of 40 students of class XI MIPA 3, and the learning was carried out face to face. The research method is a qualitative method, and data is obtained from observation sheets, concept understanding sheets, reflective journals, teacher notes, final concept understanding tests, and interviews. The 5E Learning Cycle Model consists of five stages of learning, including; Engagement, Exploration, Elaboration, and Evaluation. The level of students’ conceptual understanding was analyzed using the category of level of concept understanding which was adapted from Abraham et al. (1992) namely understanding, lack of understanding, misconceptions, and not understanding. The results of this study indicate that most students fall into the “understand” category with a percentage of 73%. The conclusion that can be drawn from this research is that the 5E Learning Cycle model can help students develop their conceptual understanding of colloidal system material.
