Abstract
******************************************************* The Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) study to assess literacy and numeracy scores in 15-year-old students from various countries around the world showed that the literacy rate of students in Indonesia is low. Where the type of literacy that is quite a concern is chemical literacy which has several levels based on scientific literacy levels. This research aims to analyze the chemistry literacy level of grade X of high school students in Bekasi City. The study used descriptive quantitative analysis and chi-square statistical analysis using cross-sectional survey methods with PISA-based instrumens. The sample in this study amounted to 392 students from 3 Public High School schools in Bekasi City, namely SMAN 1 Bekasi, SMAN 10 Bekasi, and SMAN 20 Bekasi. The results of this study found that the average grade X of high school student chemistry literacy grade score in Bekasi City was 44.43 which was included sufficiently but still relatively low, with the majority of students (35% of 392 students) having low levels of chemical literacy. So it can be concluded that the level of chemical literacy of students of class X high school in Bekasi City is already in the category of adequate. Chi-square statistical tests also showed that gender factors and class differences were not significant differentiating factors, while school differences were factors that had significant differences in students' levels of chemical literacy.
