Abstract
Pendidikan biologi menghadapi tantangan untuk menerapkan pengetahuan lama dan baru sebagai solusi masalah mendesak saat ini. Tantangan yang dihadapi salah satunya berkaitan dengan masalah sosio-biologi di masyarakat. Permasalahan sosio-biologi sedang dihadapi adalah mengenai penyebaran dan penularan COVID-19. Berkaitan dengan itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah literasi COVID-19 dapat dikontribusikan oleh penguasaan konsep virus-bakteri dan literasi biologi. Oleh karena itu, dilakukan penelitian berupa studi regresi dan korelasional dengan mengambil sampel sejumlah 297 siswa SMA. Terdapat tiga instrumen yang dikembangkan, kemudian diujikan pada siswa dan dinyatakan reliabel sebelum diimplementasikan ke dalam penelitian. Data dianalisis dengan regresi dan korelasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penguasaan konsep virus-bakteri dan literasi biologi secara bersama-sama memiliki kontribusi yang positif dan signifikan terhadap literasi COVID-19. Sekitar 16,9% literasi COVID-19 ditentukan oleh penguasaan konsep virus-bakteri dan literasi biologi. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan hubungan antara penguasaan konsep virus-bakteri dan literasi biologi terhadap literasi COVID-19 menguat apabila secara simultan berhubungan dengan literasi COVID-19 dibanding saat berhubungan secara parsial. Data tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa jika guru ingin meningkatkan literasi COVID-19 siswa maka guru perlu mendesain pembelajaran yang mampu meningkatkan penguasaan konsep virus-bakteri dan literasi biologi siswa. ************************************************************ Biology education faces the challenge of applying old and new knowledge as a solution to today's pressing problems. One of the challenges faced is related to socio-biological problems in society. The socio-biological problem being faced is regarding the spread and transmission of COVID-19. In this regard, this study aims to determine whether COVID-19 literacy can be contributed by mastering the concept of virus-bacteria and biological literacy. Therefore, this research was conducted in the form of regression and correlational studies by taking a sample of 297 high school students. There are three instruments that were developed, then tested on students and declared reliable before being implemented into research. Data were analyzed by regression and correlation. The results showed that mastery of the virus-bacteria concept and biological literacy together had a positive and significant contribution to COVID-19 literacy. Around 16.9% of COVID-19 literacy is determined by mastery of virus-bacteria concepts and biological literacy. The results also show that the relationship between mastery of the virus-bacteria concept and biological literacy on COVID-19 literacy is stronger when it is simultaneously related to COVID-19 literacy compared to when it is partially related. The data can be concluded that if teachers want to improve students' COVID-19 literacy, teachers need to design lessons that are able to increase students' mastery of virus-bacteria concepts and biological literacy.
