Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan argumentasi siswa kelas XI pada materi aplikasi asam-basa dalam pembelajaran kimia menggunakan pendekatan Socio-Critical dan Problem Oriented. Penelitian dilakukan pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2021-2022 terhadap peserta didik kelas XI MIPA di sekolah SMAN 4 Tambun Selatan sebanyak 36 orang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui observasi, reflektif jurnal, rekaman, lembar esai, dan wawancara. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu pembelajaran kimia pada materi asam-basa menggunakan pendekatan Socio- Critical dan Problem Oriented membuat pembelajaran menjadi lebih menyenangkan karena aktifitas diskusi dan debat serta topik masalah yang diangkat berkaitan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari, serta memudahkan dalam memahami konsep materi asam-basa. Profil tingkat argumentasi hasil penelitian ini yaitu peserta didik berada pada tingkat 2, 3 dan 4 dengan persentase berturut-turut yaitu 47,2%, 44,4% dan 8,3% secara tertulis dan 44,4%, 38,9%, dan 16,7% secara lisan. Adapun karakter ilmiah argumentasi siswa berada pada tingkat A1, A2 dan B1 dengan persentase berturut-turut 88,9%, 8,3%, dan 2,8% secara tertulis dan 80,5%, 16,7%, dan 2,8% secara lisan. ************************************************************ This study aims to determine the argumentation ability of class XI students on acid- base application materials in chemistry learning using a Socio-Critical and Problem-Oriented approach. The research was conducted in the even semester of the 2021–202 academic year on 36 students of class XI MIPA at SMAN 4 Tambun Selatan. This research used descriptive qualitative method. Research data was obtained through observation, reflective journals, recordings, essays, and interviews. The results of this study show that learning chemistry on acid-base material using a Socio-Critical and Problem-Oriented approach makes learning more fun because of discussion and debate activities as well as the topics raised related to daily life and makes it easier to understand the concept of acid-base material language. The argumentation level profile of the results of this study is that students are at levels 2, 3, and 4 with a percentage of 47.2%, 44.4%, and 8.3% respectively in written argument and 44.4%, 38.9%, and 16.7% respectively in oral argument. The scientific character of students' argumentation is at levels A1, A2, and B1 with percentages of 88.9%, 8.3%, and 2.8% respectively in written argument and 80.5%, 16.7%, and 2.8% respectively in oral argument.
