Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh variasi waktu pada metode UV Curing dalam kualitas thin film dari modifikasi metil metakrilat dan mesogen reaktif RM257. Radiasi sinar UV berperan dalam pembentukan polimer baru dengan penambahan inisiator Benzoil Peroksida (BPO). Polimerisasi dilakukan pada suhu 120oC dalam variasi waktu 5 menit, 10 menit, 15 menit, dan 20 menit. Lalu sampel dilakukan karakterisasi menggunakan FTIR, SEM, XRD dan LCR Meter. Spektrum FTIR menunjukkan thin film yang dihasilkan memiliki pola serapan yang seragam di semua variasi waktu. Puncak serapan muncul pada gelombang 2950 cm-1 menunjukkan gugus fungsi –C-H3, 1721 cm-1 menandakan gugus fungsi C=O, 1604 cm-1 menunjukkan gugus fungsi aromatik, 1248 cm-1 menandakan gugus fungsi C-O-C, 1144 dan 1060 cm-1 menunjukkan gugus fungsi C-O. Pada karakterisasi SEM menunjukkan sampel dengan variasi waktu 15 menit memiliki keseragaman bentuk morfologi yang terbaik, terlihat bentuk molekul batangan di seluruh sampel yang merupakan ciri khas dari mesogen reaktif. Karakterisasi XRD dilakukan pada rentang sudut 2θ 10o-90o, terdapat puncak yang lebar pada 2θ 10o-38o, munculnya puncak tajam dengan intensitas sedang di 2θ 13.90o dan 16.83o, lalu puncak tajam dengan intensitas tinggi muncul di 2θ 44.66o, hal ini menandakan bahwa thin film bersifat semikristalin. Hasil LCR meter menunjukkan bahwa nilai konduktivitas terbesar dari thin film adalah 2.24512097 x 10-6 S/cm, sehingga dapat diketahui thin film yang dihasilkan bersifat semikonduktor. ********************************************* The purpose of this research is to identify the photopolymerization of product blending methyl methacrylate with reactive mesogen RM257 using the UV Curing method with time variations. UV radiation had a role in the formation of new polymer with the addition of Benzoyl Peroxide (BPO) initiator. Polymerization was carried out at a temperature of 120oC in time variations of 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, and 20 minutes. Then the sample were characterized using FTIR, SEM, XRD and LCR Meter. The FTIR spectrum shows that thin film has the same pattern absorption in all the time variations. The absorption peak appears at 2950 cm-1 indicating of –C-H3 bonds, 1721 cm-1 indicating of C=O bonds, 1604 cm-1 indicating of aromatic functional group, 1248 cm-1 indicating of C-O-C bonds, 1144 and 1060 cm-1 indicates of C-O bonds. The SEM characterization shows that samples with a time variation of 15 minutes had the best uniformity of morphological shape and visible molecular shape of rods in all samples which is a characteristic of reactive mesogen. XRD characterization was carried out at an angle range of 2θ 10o-90o, there was a wide peak at 2θ 10o-38o, the appearance of a sharp peaks with moderate intensity at 2θ 13.90o and 16.83o, high intensity appeared at 2θ 44.66o, this indicates that the thin film is semicrystalline. The results of the LCR meter show that the highest conductivity value of thin film is 2.24512097 x 10-6S/cm, so it can be seen that the thin film produced is a semiconductor.
