Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji representasi pornografi dalam konten kuliner di TikTok. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan analisis wacana kritis Fairclough dan pendekatan multimodal, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa elemen seksual digunakan sebagai strategi komersial untuk menarik perhatian dan meningkatkan engagement. Konten-konten ini tidak hanya menyajikan makanan, tetapi juga membentuk narasi seksual yang eksplisit dan simbolik. Merujuk pada teori komodifikasi Mosco, konten kuliner diposisikan sebagai produk pasar yang mengeksploitasi seksualitas demi keuntungan ekonomi. Melalui kerangka sirkuit budaya Hall dan model encoding-decoding, ditemukan bahwa proses produksi, distribusi, dan konsumsi konten menciptakan sistem representasi yang kompleks dan berulang. Dalam proses decoding, meski respon beragam, audiens menerima dan menormalisasi elemen seksual sebagai bagian dari estetika kuliner. Hal ini menunjukkan berjalannya hegemoni kultural, nilai-nilai seksualitas yang dieksplisitkan dalam konten kuliner diterima dan direproduksi tanpa resistensi berarti. Berdasarkan temuan ini, penelitian merekomendasikan pengembangan model konten kuliner alternatif yang berorientasi pada etika dan tidak bergantung pada eksploitasi seksual. Using a qualitative approach with Fairclough’s critical discourse analysis and a multimodal framework, the research finds that sexual elements are employed as a commercial strategy to attract attention and increase engagement. These contents do not merely showcase food but also construct explicit and symbolic sexual narratives. Referring to Mosco’s theory of commodification, culinary content is positioned as a market product that exploits sexuality for economic gain. Through Hall’s circuit of culture and the encoding-decoding model, the study reveals that the production, distribution, and consumption processes form a complex and cyclical system of representation. In the decoding process, although the audience interpret the messages in various ways, they tend to accept the normalization of sexual elements as part of culinary aesthetics. This indicates the operation of cultural hegemony, where the values of explicit sexuality embedded in culinary content are accepted and reproduced with little resistance. Based on these findings, the study recommends the development of alternative culinary content models that uphold ethical standards without relying on sexual exploitation.
