Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Group Investigation (GI) terhadap pemahaman konseptual siswa pada materi hukum dasar kimia. Penelitian dilakukan pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2024/2025 di SMAN 44 Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian quasi experimental melalui desain pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan menggunakan teknik cluster sampling (non-probability sampling) dengan kelas X-5 sebagai kelas eksperimen yang menerapkan model Group Investigation (GI) dan kelas X-7 sebagai kelas kontrol yang menerapkan model Direct Instruction (DI). Jumlah sampel penelitian adalah 71 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes pilihan ganda dua tingkat sebanyak 20 butir soal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata skor posttest kelas eksperimen (79,14) lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol (64,31). Nilai N-Gain kelas eksperimen (0,70) juga lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol (0,49). Persentase ketuntasan belajar siswa kelas eksperimen sebesar 66% sedangkan kelas kontrol sebesar 42%. Uji Mann Whitney menghasilkan nilai signifikansi (Sig. 1-tailed) sebesar 0,000 (< 0,05) yang menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata pemahaman konseptual siswa kelas eksperimen secara signifikan lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model Group Investigation (GI) berpengaruh positif terhadap pemahaman konseptual siswa pada materi hukum dasar kimia. ***** This study aims to determine the effect of Group Investigation (GI) type cooperative learning model on students’ conceptual understanding of basic laws of chemistry. The research was conducted in the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year at SMAN 44 Jakarta. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental research design through a pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design. Sampling was conducted using cluster sampling (non-probability sampling) techniques with class X-5 as the experimental class that applied the Group Investigation (GI) model and class X-7 as the control class that applied the Direct Instruction (DI) model. The number of research samples was 71 students. The instrument used was a two-tier multiple-choice test of 20 items. The results showed that the average posttest score of the experimental class (79,14) was higher than the control class (64,31). The N-Gain value of the experimental class (0,70) was also higher than the control class (0,49). The percentage of student learning completeness of the experimental class was 66% while the control class was 42%. The Mann Whitney test resulted in a significance value (Sig. 1-tailed) of 0,000 (< 0,05) which indicates that the average conceptual understanding of experimental class students is significantly higher than the control class. Thus, it can be concluded that the Group Investigation (GI) model has a positive effect on students’ conceptual understanding of basic laws of chemistry.
