Abstract

Kota Sibolga sebagai kota dengan kepadatan penduduk tertinggi kedua di Provinsi Sumatera Utara (7.971 jiwa/km²), menghadapi tantangan keterbatasan daya dukung permukiman yang menyebabkan ketidaksesuaian fungsi ruang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesesuaian lahan permukiman dan daya dukungnya secara spasial menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Parameter kesesuaian lahan permukiman yaitu kemiringan lereng, curah hujan, jenis tanah, jarak permukiman dari jalan utama, wilayah rawan bencana dan parameter daya dukung permukiman yaitu lahan layak permukiman, jumlah penduduk, koefisien ruang perkapita diolah menggunakan ArcGIS. Teknik scoring dan overlay diterapkan untuk memperoleh peta kesesuaian lahan permukiman dan peta daya dukung permukiman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kecamatan Sibolga Kota merupakan wilayah dengan kesesuaian lahan permukiman dengan kategori sangat sesuai terluas per wilayahnya sebesar 62,46% atau seluas 0,78 km2. Adapun daya dukung permukiman di kecamatan Sibolga Kota juga merepresentasikan hal yang relevan dengan nilai 1.99 menunjukkan kecamatan Sibolga Kota memiliki kapasitas yang sangat besar untuk perkembangan permukiman hingga tahun 2044. Sementara, kecamatan Sibolga Selatan menjadi wilayah dengan nilai daya dukung rendah sebesar 0,76 mengindikasikan tekanan terhadap kapasitas lahan sudah cukup besar. Kata Kunci: Kesesuaian Lahan Permukiman, Daya Dukung Permukiman, Pertumbuhan Penduduk, Analisis Spasial. ***** Sibolga City, as the second most densely populated city in North Sumatra Province (7,971 people/km²), faced challenges related to limited residential carrying capacity, resulting in spatial mismatches in land use. This study aimed to analyze residential land suitability and it’s carrying capacity spatially using a quantitative descriptive method. Parameters of land suitability namely slope, rainfall, soil type, distance of settlements from main roads, disaster-prone areas and carrying capacity namely habitable land, population, per capita space coefficient were processed using ArcGIS. Scoring and overlay techniques were applied to produce residential land suitability maps and carrying capacity maps. The results showed that Sibolga Kota District had the largest proportion of highly suitable residential land, accounting for 62.46% or 0.78 km² of the district’s area. The residential carrying capacity in Sibolga Kota was also high, with a value of 1.99, indicating a strong capacity to support settlement growth until 2044. In contrast, Sibolga Selatan District recorded a lower carrying capacity value of 0.76, suggesting significant pressure on available land and exceeding its optimal population capacity.
