Abstract
Kata kunci: persepsi masyarakat, komunitas lokal, pariwisata berkelanjutan, konservasi, Pulau Pramuka ***** This research explores how the local community of Pramuka Island perceives the role of Smiling Coral Indonesia (SCI) in developing sustainable tourism. SCI is a local community focusing on marine conservation and environmental education, and it actively involves residents in its programs. The study uses a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results show that most residents have a positive view of SCI’s presence. Socially, SCI is seen as successful in engaging with the community and creating good relationships. Economically, some residents benefit through collaboration in homestays, catering, and boat rentals. Environmentally, SCI’s consistent activities such as coral planting and beach clean-ups help raise public awareness about nature conservation. However, community involvement is still uneven and needs improvement. This study recommends increasing local participation, strengthening the identity of SCI, and expanding educational programs to reach more community groups. Keywords: community perception, local participation, sustainable tourism, conservation, Pramuka Island
