Abstract

***** This study aims to analyze the effect of labor productivity, producer confidence, and exchange rate on the level of manufacturing production in ASEAN-5 countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, and Vietnam) during the period 2015-2023. The data used is sourced from the World Bank, Bank for International Settlements (BIS), Trading Economics, and statistical agencies of each country, and analyzed using panel data regression with Random Effect Model (REM) approach. The results show that labor productivity has no significant effect on manufacturing production, producer confidence has a significant effect on manufacturing production, and exchange rates have a significant effect on manufacturing production. The COVID-19 pandemic was not found to significantly reduce production levels due to supply chain disruptions and restrictions on economic activities, as production actually increased during the pandemic.
