Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi pengaruh jenis scaffolding dalam pembelajaran kolaboratif terhadap hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik pada materi kalor. Dua jenis scaffolding yang digunakan adalah soft scaffolding (bimbingan langsung) dan hard scaffolding (media pembelajaran). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi-experiment dengan desain nonequivalent control group. Subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas X di SMAN 49 Jakarta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedua jenis scaffolding memberikan peningkatan hasil belajar kognitif, dengan soft scaffolding menunjukkan gain score dan normalized gain yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan hard scaffolding. Namun, uji statistik Mann-Whitney U menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kedua jenis scaffolding terhadap hasil belajar kognitif. Meskipun demikian, soft scaffolding lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir analitis dan aplikatif peserta didik. ***** This research aims to investigate the effect of scaffolding types in collaborative learning on students' cognitive learning outcomes in the topic of heat. Two types of scaffolding were applied: soft scaffolding (direct guidance) and hard scaffolding (learning media). The research method used was a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group. The subjects were tenth-grade students at SMAN 49 Jakarta. The results showed that both types of scaffolding improved cognitive learning outcomes, with soft scaffolding yielding higher gain scores and normalized gain than hard scaffolding. However, statistical analysis using the Mann-Whitney U test indicated no significant difference between the two scaffolding types in terms of cognitive learning outcomes. Nevertheless, soft scaffolding was found to be more effective in enhancing students' analytical and applicative thinking skills.
