Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis tentang tahap kedukaan yang dialami oleh Yusuke Kafuku dan Misaki Watari dalam film berjudul Drive My Car. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tahapan kedukaan yang dialami oleh Kafuku dan Watari, serta untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang menjadi pembeda dari tahap kedukaan yang dijalani oleh keduanya. Penelitian ini menarik dan penting untuk dianalisis lebih lanjut karena setiap individu pasti pernah dan akan mengalami kedukaan, namun yang membedakan adalah cara setiap individu dalam menyadari, memahami, dan menangani kedukaannya. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu teori five stages of grief (lima tahap kedukaan) dan mise en scène sebagai pendukung untuk menganalisis unsur sinematik film dalam penggambaran emosi tokoh. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode kualitatif, dikarenakan data yang dikumpulkan berasal dari film yang terdiri dari kata atau kalimat dan gambar. Hasil dari penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa Yusuke Kafuku mengalami seluruh tahap kedukaan namun dengan pola yang tidak linier. Tahapan yang dilalui tersebut antara lain yaitu, tahap denial (penolakan), anger (marah) dan depression (depresi) yang saling bertumpang tindih, bargaining (tawar-menawar), dan acceptance (penerimaan). Di sisi lain, Misaki Watari hanya melalui dua tahap kedukaan, yaitu tahap depression (depresi) dan acceptance (penerimaan). Terdapat faktor yang memengaruhi perbedaan pola kedukaan Kafuku dan Watari, antara lain yaitu, regrets (penyesalan), secrets (rahasia), control (kendali), multiple losses (kedukaan berlapis), dan sudden death (kematian mendadak). Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat membantu mansyarakat tentang kedukaan yang dialami oleh setiap individu beserta tahap-tahapnya, sehingga dapat memahami akan kedukaan yang dialamin oleh dirinya sendiri dan orang di sekitarnya. The purpose of this study is to describe the stages of grief experienced by Kafuku and Watari, as well as to identify the factors that differentiate the stages of grief experienced by the two. This study is interesting and important to analyze further because every individual has experienced and will experience grief, but what distinguishes them is how each individual realizes, understands, and deals with their grief. The theories used in this study are the five stages of grief theory and mise en scène as a supporting framework for analyzing the cinematic elements of the film in depicting the characters' emotions. The method used in this study is qualitative, as the data collected comes from a film consisting of words, sentences, and images. The results of this study found that Yusuke Kafuku experienced all stages of grief but in a non-linear pattern. The stages he went through included denial, anger and depression, which overlapped, bargaining, and acceptance. On the other hand, Misaki Watari only went through two stages of grief, namely depression and acceptance. There are factors influencing the differences in Kafuku and Watari's grief patterns, including regrets, secrets, control, multiple losses, and sudden death. This study is expected to help society understand the grief experienced by each individual and its stages, so that they can comprehend the grief they themselves and those around them are experiencing.
