Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh komitmen karier terhadap kesuksesan karier subjektif pada mahasiswa yang menjalani peran ganda sebagai pekerja sekaligus mahasiswa di Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Komitmen karier dipahami sebagai dedikasi dan keterikatan individu terhadap tujuan kariernya, sedangkan kesuksesan karier subjektif merupakan persepsi pribadi individu atas pencapaian dan kepuasan kariernya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 71 mahasiswa aktif angkatan 2018–2020 yang bekerja sambil berkuliah, dipilih dengan metode non-probability yaitu teknik snowball sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah skala The Career Commitment Measure (CCM) dan Subjective Career Success Inventory (SCSI) yang telah diadaptasi. Analisis data menggunakan uji korelasi Spearman menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif yang signifikan antara komitmen karier dan kesuksesan karier subjektif dengan nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,483 dan signifikansi 0,000 (p < 0,05). Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi tingkat komitmen karier yang dimiliki mahasiswa, maka semakin tinggi pula persepsi mereka terhadap kesuksesan karier yang dicapai. Penelitian ini memberikan implikasi penting bahwa pembentukan komitmen karier sejak dini dapat menjadi pondasi kuat dalam pencapaian karier yang bermakna, khususnya bagi mahasiswa yang menjalani peran ganda. ***** This study aims to examine the influence of career commitment on subjective career success among students who simultaneously work and study at the Faculty of Educational Sciences, State University of Jakarta. Career commitment is understood as an individual’s dedication and attachment to their career goals, while subjective career success refers to a person’s personal perception of achievement and satisfaction in their career. This research employs a quantitative approach using a correlational method. The sample consists of 71 active students from the 2018–2020 cohorts who work while pursuing their studies, selected through a non-probability sampling technique, specifically snowball sampling. The instruments used were adapted versions of the Career Commitment Measure (CCM) and the Subjective Career Success Inventory (SCSI). The data were analyzed using the Spearman correlation test, which revealed a significant positive relationship between career commitment and subjective career success, with a correlation coefficient of 0.483 and a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). These findings indicate that the higher the level of career commitment students possess, the greater their perception of career success. This study highlights the critical role of developing career commitment early as a strong foundation for achieving meaningful career outcomes, particularly for students balancing dual roles.
