Abstract
Keterampilan sosial pada anak usia dini merupakan fondasi utama bagi keberhasilan mereka di masa depan, karena melalui keterampilan ini anak belajar membangun relasi, bekerja sama, memahami perasaan orang lain, serta menyesuaikan diri dengan lingkungan sosial yang semakin kompleks. Namun, dalam praktik pembelajaran di PAUD, pengembangan keterampilan sosial sering kali belum terfasilitasi secara optimal melalui kegiatan yang menyenangkan dan bermakna. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan model pembelajaran proyek berbasis permainan sains (ProperSains) untuk meningkatkan keterampilan sosial anak usia dini. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan Research and Development (R&D) Borg & Gall. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 73 anak usia 5–6 tahun yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling, terdiri atas 9 anak pada uji coba terbatas, 32 anak pada uji coba skala besar, dan 32 anak pada uji lapangan operasional. Instrumen penelitian meliputi lembar kuesioner, lembar penilaian keterampilan sosial anak, dan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan model. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan teknik kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Hasil studi pendahuluan menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar guru PAUD belum memahami dan menerapkan model pembelajaran proyek berbasis permainan sains untuk meningkatkan keterampilan sosial anak usia 5-6 tahun di Kabupaten Lombok Timur. (2) telah berhasil dikembangkan model pembelajaran proyek berbasis permainan sains (ProperSains) melalui tahapan sistematis Research and Development (R&D) menggunkan kerangka Borg & Gall; (3) model ProperSains yang dikembangkan terbukti layak dan praktis dalam meningkatkan keterampilan sosial anak usia 5–6 tahun; dan (4) model ProperSains terbukti efektif meningkatkan keterampilan sosial anak PAUD, terutama dalam aspek kerja sama, komunikasi, berbagi, partisipasi, dan adaptasi. Kata kunci: Model Pembelajaran Proyek, Permainan Sains, Keterampilan Sosial Anak Usia Dini. ***** Social skills in early childhood are a fundamental foundation for future success, as they enable children to build relationships, collaborate, understand others’ feelings, and adapt to an increasingly complex social environment. However, in early childhood education (ECE) practice, the development of social skills is often not optimally facilitated through meaningful and enjoyable activities. This study aims to develop a science-based project learning model called ProperSains (Project- Based Science Play) to enhance the social skills of young children. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach based on the Borg and Gall framework. The study involved 73 children aged 5–6 years, selected through purposive sampling: 9 children participated in the limited trial, 32 in the large-scale trial, and 32 in the operational field test. Research instruments included questionnaires, social skills assessment sheets, and model implementation observation sheets. Data were analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative methods. The results revealed that: (1) preliminary studies indicated that most ECE teachers had not yet understood or implemented project-based science play models to support social skill development; (2) the ProperSains model was successfully developed through systematic R&D stages using the Borg and Gall framework; (3) the model was found to be feasible and practical for improving the social skills of children aged 5–6; and (4) the ProperSains model proved effective in enhancing key aspects of social skills, particularly cooperation, communication, sharing, participation, and adaptability.
