Abstract
***** Berril Nathanda Utomo, 1410621091, The Influence of Exposure to the TikTok Social Media Campaign @Greenpeaceid on Public Perception Regarding the Indonesian Government's Nickel Mining Policy in Raja Ampat. Communication Science Study Program, Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, 2026: 200 Pages, 8 Books, 13 Journals. This research aims to determine the influence of exposure to the TikTok social media campaign @Greenpeaceid on public perception regarding the Indonesian government's nickel mining policy in Raja Ampat. The background of this study is rooted in the importance of social media as a fast, wide-reaching, and interactive communication platform, especially in educating and mobilizing public awareness concerning environmental issues. The Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM) theory is used to analyze how the audience processes campaign messages, either through the central route which involves deep analysis or the peripheral route which relies on visual and social cues. A quantitative research method was applied using a survey of 100 respondents who are viewers of the @Greenpeaceid TikTok account. The data was then analyzed using validity, reliability, normality, linearity, and simple linear regression tests with the aid of SPSS. The research results indicate that the #SaveRajaAmpat campaign is effective in shaping public perception, particularly through the dimensions of systematic strategy, goals, and strategic planning, as well as the accountability of campaign exposure. The formed public perception includes a focus on content and attention to environmental issues, identification with the campaign's supporting groups, and the ability to recall and reuse campaign messages in social discussions. The findings also show a significant influence of the campaign on perception with a determination coefficient value of 64.6%, meaning that the majority of public perception can be explained by the campaign. This research reinforces the understanding that a well-designed social media campaign, utilizing a dual approach of central and peripheral routes, is capable of mobilizing public support and concrete action in the preservation of the Raja Ampat environment.
