Abstract
***** This study aims to examine the significance of school community responses to the maggot (Black Soldier Fly) cultivation program as an effort to manage organic waste at SMA Negeri 28 Jakarta. The study employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire administered to 120 respondents, consisting of students, teachers, and school staff, selected through proportional stratified random sampling. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics and a One-Sample t-Test, with a reference value of 3 representing a neutral response. The results showed that the mean score of school community responses was 4.087, indicating a positive category. The OneSample t-Test yielded a t-value of 50.856 with a significance level of 0.000 (p < 0.05) and a mean difference of 1.087. These findings indicate that the school community’s responses were significantly above the neutral category. The results demonstrate that students, teachers, and staff showed strong understanding, acceptance, and support forthe maggot cultivation program, particularly in organic waste sorting activities and support for program sustainability. Therefore, it can be concluded that the school community’s response to the maggot cultivation program was positive and statistically significant in supporting organic waste management in the school environment.
