Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan metode zero waste fashion dengan teknik geometric cutting pada perancangan convertible fashion serta menilai kualitas hasil produknya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah preexperimental design dengan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif. Proses penelitian meliputi tahap perancangan, pembuatan, dan penilaian terhadap lima produk fashion yang dirancang menggunakan teknik geometric cutting. Penilaian produk berdasarkan empat aspek zero waste fashion, yaitu tampilan visual (visual appearance), efisiensi biaya (cost), keberlanjutan (sustainability), dan kemudahan produksi (manufacturability). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode zero waste fashion geometric cutting pada convertible fashion mampu menghasilkan busana tanpa sisa kain produksi, memiliki kualitas tampilan visual yang baik, efisiensi penggunaan material yang optimal, serta mendukung prinsip keberlanjutan melalui sistem perubahan bentuk dan fungsi dalam satu produk. Selain itu, desain yang dihasilkan menunjukkan kemudahan dalam proses produksi dengan teknik konstruksi dan penjahitan yang relatif sederhana. Penerapan metode zero waste fashion dengan teknik geometric cutting pada convertible fashion mampu menghasilkan produk yang fungsional, berkelanjutan, serta layak diterapkan dalam praktik produksi busana. Kata kunci: zero waste fashion, geometric cutting, convertible fashion ***** This study aims to apply the zero waste fashion method using the geometric cutting technique in the design of convertible fashion and to evaluate the quality of the resulting products. The research method employed is a pre-experimental design with a descriptive quantitative approach. The research process includes the stages of design development, production, and evaluation of five convertible fashion products created using the geometric cutting technique. The evaluation is based on four zero waste fashion aspects: visual appearance, cost efficiency, sustainability, and manufacturability. The results of the study indicate that the application of the zero waste fashion geometric cutting method in convertible fashion design is able to produce garments without production fabric waste, with good visual quality, optimal material efficiency, and strong support for sustainability principles through a system of form and function transformation within a single product. In addition, the resulting designs demonstrate ease of production through relatively simple construction and sewing techniques. The application of the zero waste fashion method with the geometric cutting technique in convertible fashion is therefore capable of producing functional and sustainable products and is feasible to be applied in fashion production practices.
