Abstract
****** The building sector is a major contributor to global energy consumption; therefore, façade material selection, particularly glazing, plays a crucial role in influencing cooling and lighting energy loads. The BRT Electric Center Building, which is dominated by glass façades, requires an appropriate material strategy to achieve energy efficiency. This study aims to analyze and compare building electricity consumption resulting from the use of reflective glass (Stopsol) and tinted glass (Panasap), as well as to evaluate the application of Building Information Modeling (BIM) 6D. A quantitative comparative method was applied using three-dimensional modeling in Autodesk Revit integrated with Autodesk Insight. Three simulation scenarios were conducted: clear glass as the baseline, Stopsol glass, and Panasap glass, with Energy Use Intensity (EUI) as the main performance indicator. The simulation results show that clear glass produced the highest EUI of 240.92 kWh/m²/year. Panasap glass achieved an EUI of 210.90 kWh/m²/year, resulting in an energy reduction of 12.46% compared to the baseline. Stopsol glass demonstrated the best performance with the lowest EUI of 201.08 kWh/m²/year, providing 16.53% energy savings and stable performance across different windowto-wall ratios. Therefore, Stopsol glass is recommended as the most energy-efficient façade material, and BIM 6D is proven to be effective for evaluating building energy performance.
