Abstract
Menurunnya minat anak terhadap cerita rakyat Nusantara, khususnya legenda, menjadi tantangan dalam upaya pelestarian budaya di tengah dominasi media hiburan digital. Penelitian penciptaan ini bertujuan mengembangkan media alternatif berupa mini diorama dan minifigure berbasis bricks sebagai sarana mendongeng yang interaktif, edukatif dan relevan bagi anak usia 8-10 tahun. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan Design Thinking yang meliputi tahap empati, perumusan masalah, ideasi, perancangan dan penyempurnaan karya. Data diperoleh melalui studi literatur, kuesioner, wawancara narasumber ahli, serta focus group discussion dengan siswa sekolah dasar. Hasil penciptaan berupa 5 set mini diorama dan minifigure yang merepresentasikan legenda Nusantara dari 5 pulau besar di Indonesia, yaitu Malin Kundang, Roro Jonggrang, Hikayat Saijaan dan Ikan Todak, Gunung Mekongga dan Sungai Maruwai. Karya ini didukung oleh system visual terpadu berupa kemasan, kartu ilustrasi, petunjuk penggunaan dan QR Code yang menghubungkan penggunaan dengan cerita lengkap legenda. Hasil perancangan menunjukkan bahwa mini diorama berbasis bricks berpotensi menjadi media visual storytelling yang menarik dan mudah dipahami serta dapat meningkatkan ketertarikan anak terhadap legenda Nusantara sebagai bagian dari warisan budaya Indonesia.*****The declining interest of children in Indonesian folklore, particular legends, presents a challenge for cultural preservation in the digital era. This creation-based research aims to develop an alternative storytelling medium in the form of bricks-based mini dioramas and minifigures that is interactive, educational and suitable for children aged 8-10 years. The study employs a qualitative method using a Design Thinking approach, including the stages of emphatizing, defining, ideating, prototyping and refining data were collected through literature review, questionaires, expert interviews and focus group discusiions with elementary school students. The final outcome consists of five mini diorama and minifigure that’s representing Indonesia legends from five majors islands, namely Malin Kundang, Roro Jonggrang, Saijaan and the Swordfish, legend of Mount Mekongga, and the origin of the Maruwai River. The work is supported by an intergrated visual system, including packaging, illustrated cards, assembly guides and QR Codes that provide access to complete legend narratives. The result indicate that brick-based mini dioramas have the potential to function as an effective visual storytelling medium that enhances children’s interest in Indonesian legends as part of the nation’s cultural heritage.
