Abstract
Pemilihan umum presiden kerap menjadi momentum meningkatnya polarisasi politik di tengah masyarakat, terutama pada wilayah yang memiliki keragaman sosial yang tinggi. Perbedaan pilihan politik berpotensi menimbulkan ketegangan sosial yang dapat mengganggu keharmonisan hubungan antarwarga. Dalam konteks tersebut, toleransi politik menjadi elemen penting dalam menjaga kohesi sosial dan kualitas kehidupan demokratis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana masyarakat Desa Bojong Kulur, Kecamatan Gunung Putri, Kabupaten Bogor, memaknai dan mempraktikkan toleransi politik dalam Pemilu Presiden 2024, serta mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor sosial dan budaya yang mempengaruhinya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif-interpretatif. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi terhadap 8 orang narasumber diantaranya adalah tokoh masyarakat, pemuka agama, pemuda, serta warga dengan latar belakang sosial yang beragam. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan teori interaksionisme simbolik George Herbert Mead dan Herbert Blumer untuk memahami proses pembentukan makna toleransi politik melalui interaksi sosial sehari-hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa toleransi politik dimaknai sebagai sikap saling menghormati perbedaan pilihan politik tanpa mengorbankan relasi sosial. Praktik toleransi politik tercermin dalam kemampuan warga memisahkan preferensi politik dari hubungan sosial, menjaga komunikasi yang santun, serta tetap terlibat dalam kegiatan sosial bersama. Faktor yang mempengaruhi toleransi politik meliputi kuatnya nilai gotong royong, musyawarah, solidaritas sosial, peran tokoh masyarakat, serta keberadaan modal sosial yang memperkuat kepercayaan antarwarga. Differences in political preferences have the potential to generate social tensions that may disrupt the harmony of interpersonal relations among community members. In this context, political tolerance becomes a crucial element in maintaining social cohesion and the quality of democratic life. This study aims to analyze how the residents of Bojong Kulur Village, Gunung Putri Subdistrict, Bogor Regency, understand and practice political tolerance during the 2024 Presidential Election, as well as to identify the social and cultural factors that influence it. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive-interpretative method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving 8 informants, including community leaders, religious figures, youth representatives, and residents from diverse social backgrounds. Data analysis was conducted using the symbolic interactionism theory of George Herbert Mead and Herbert Blumer to understand the process through which the meaning of political tolerance is formed through everyday social interactions. The findings indicate that political tolerance is understood as an attitude of mutual respect for differing political choices without sacrificing social relationships. The practice of political tolerance is reflected in residents’ ability to separate political preferences from social relations, maintain polite and respectful communication, and continue participating in shared social activities. Factors influencing political tolerance include the strong values of mutual cooperation (gotong royong), deliberation (musyawarah), social solidarity, the role of community leaders, and the presence of social capital that strengthens trust among community members.
