Abstract
Peningkatan penggunaan Paving Block untuk area parkir perkantoran, pusat perbelanjaan, kampus, dan fasilitas publik semakin dominan. Namun, Paving Block sering mengalami beban lalu lintas berulang yang dapat menimbulkan keausan permukaan berlebih. Di sisi lain, produksi Paving Block konvensional masih sangat bergantung pada semen dan pasir alam. Kondisi tersebut menuntut inovasi bahan yang lebih awet dan ramah lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemanfaatan plastik High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) sebagai substitusi pasir sebesar 5% dan serbuk kaca (Glass Powder) sebagai substitusi parsial semen dengan variasi 10%, 15%, dan 20%. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen laboratorium. Dimensi cetakan Paving Block 21 cm x 10,5 cm x 6 cm, perbandingan semen:pasir:faktor air semen adalah 1:3:0,4. Sebanyak 140 sampel diuji pada umur 28 hari yang meliputi pengujian sifat tampak, ukuran, kuat tekan, penyerapan air, dan ketahanan aus sesuai SNI 03-0691-1996 tentang Pavng Block. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi HDPE dan peningkatan kadar serbuk kaca menurunkan kinerja mekanis secara keseluruhan. Seluruh persyaratan mutu B dipenuhi oleh variasi kontrol (0% HDPE + 0% GP), sedangkan seluruh variasi campuran HDPE dan serbuk kaca tidak memenuhi mutu B secara keseluruhan. Komposisi 5% HDPE + 10% GP disimpulkan sebagai variasi paling optimal dan berpotensi diterapkan pada area parkir dengan kondisi tanah berpasir. ***** The increasing use of Paving Blocks for office parking areas, shopping centers, campuses, and public facilities is increasingly dominant. However, Paving Blocks often experience repeated traffic loads that can cause excessive surface wear. On the other hand, conventional Paving Block production still relies heavily on cement and natural sand. This condition demands innovation in materials that are more durable and environmentally friendly. This study aims to determine the use of High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) plastic as a 5% sand substitute and Glass Powder as a partial cement substitute with variations of 10%, 15%, and 20%. The method used is a laboratory experiment. The dimensions of the Paving Block mold are 21 cm x 10.5 cm x 6 cm, the ratio of cement:sand:cement water factor is 1:3:0.4. A total of 140 samples were tested at the age of 28 days which includes testing the appearance, size, compressive strength, water absorption, and wear resistance according to SNI 03-0691-1996 concerning Paving Block. The results showed that the combination of HDPE and increasing levels of Glass Powder reduced the overall mechanical performance. All B quality requirements were met by the control variation (0% HDPE + 0% GP), while all variations of the HDPE and Glass Powder mixture did not meet overall B quality. The composition of 5% HDPE + 10% GP was concluded as the most optimal variation and has the potential to be applied to parking areas with sandy soil conditions.
