Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penggunaan model Predict-Observe-Explain-Do (POED) terintegrasi STEM terhadap motivasi belajar peserta didik pada materi asam basa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif metode quasi experiment dengan pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design di salah satu SMA Negeri Jakarta. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling pada kelas XI, melibatkan sebanyak 72 peserta didik sebagai sampel. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan instrumen Science Motivation Questionnaire (SMQ) II dan dianalisis melalui statistik deskriptif dan inferensial (uji t). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan mean skor motivasi belajar kelompok eksperimen (8,68) jauh lebih tinggi dibanding kelompok kontrol (1,00). Uji paired sample t kelompok eksperimen menghasilkan sig. (2-tailed) 0,000 < 0,05 dengan effect size sangat kuat (2,233). Sementara itu, uji independent sample t skor posttest seluruh dimensi menunjukkan sig. (2-tailed) 0,000 < 0,05 dengan effect size kuat (0,995). Peningkatan motivasi belajar peserta didik kelompok eksperimen dipicu oleh sintaks pembelajaran yang sistematis, keterlibatan aktif peserta didik dan pengintegrasian pendekatan lintas disiplin. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model Predict-Observe-Explain-Do (POED) terintegrasi STEM berpengaruh terhadap motivasi belajar peserta didik kelas XI pada materi asam basa.***** This study aims to analyze the effect of the STEM integrated Predict-Observe-Explain-Do (POED) model on students learning motivation in the acid base topic. This study utilized a quantitative approach with a quasi experimental method and a pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design at a public senior high school in Jakarta. Sampling was conducted using purposive sampling in grade XI, involving 72 students as the sample. Data were collected using the Science Motivation Questionnaire (SMQ) II instrument and analyzed through descriptive and inferential statistics (t-test). The results showed that the mean score of learning motivation increase in the experimental group (8,68) was substantially higher than the control group (1,00). The paired sample t-test for the experimental group revealed a sig. (2-tailed) 0,000 < 0,05 with a very stong effect size (2,233). Meanwhile,the independent sample t-test on the posttest scores across all dimensions showed a sig. (2-tailed) 0,000 < 0,05 with a strong effect size (0,995). The increase in the experimental froups students learning motivation was influenced by systematic instructional syntax, students active engagement and the integration of the interdisciplinary approach. It can be concluded that the implementation of the STEM integrated Predict-Observe-Explain-Do (POED) model significantly affected the learning motivation of grade XI students in the acid base topic.
