Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran learning cycle 5E terhadap proses kognitif peserta didik pada materi larutan penyangga. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode quasi experiment dan desain pretest posttest nonequivalent control group design. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 74 peserta didik kelas XI. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes pilihan ganda sebanyak 25 butir soal. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai posttest kelompok eksperimen sebesar 83,89 lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok kontrol sebesar 70,22. Hasil independent sample t-test menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol (sig. 0,000 < 0,05), sedangkan hasil paired t-test menunjukkan bahwa kelompok eksperimen mengalami peningkatan proses kognitif yang signifikan setelah pembelajaran (sig. 0,000 < 0,05). Selain itu, kelompok eksperimen memperoleh nilai N-gain sebesar 0,70 dengan kategori tinggi dan nilai Cohen’s d sebesar 4,650 yang termasuk kategori sangat kuat. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran learning cycle 5E berpengaruh terhadap proses kognitif peserta didik pada materi larutan penyangga.***** This study aimed to determine the effect of the Learning Cycle 5E learning model on students' cognitive processes in the buffer solution topic. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, involving 74 eleventh-grade students. The research instrument consisted of a 25-item multiple-choice test. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results showed that the mean posttest score of the experimental group was 83.89, which was higher than that of the control group (70.22). The results of the independent samples t-test indicated a significant difference between the experimental and control groups (p = 0.000 < 0.05), while the paired samples t-test showed that the experimental group experienced a significant improvement in cognitive processes after the implementation of the learning model (p = 0.000 < 0.05). In addition, the experimental group obtained an N-gain score of 0.70, categorized as high, and a Cohen's d value of 4.650, indicating a very large effect size. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Learning Cycle 5E learning model has a significant effect on students' cognitive processes in the buffer solution topic.
