Abstract
***** This study aims to analyze and compare landslide susceptibility in Pekalongan Regency using the Stability Index Mapping (SINMAP) and Slope Morphology (SMORPH) methods, as well as to examine the relationship between aspect, the Topographic Ruggedness Index (TRI), and the Topographic Wetness Index (TWI) and the spatial distribution of landslide susceptibility. This research employed a descriptive quantitative approach based on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) using rainfall, Digital Elevation Model (DEM), soil type, and landslide inventory data from 2019–2025. The results indicate that the SMORPH method was dominated by the low susceptibility class (79.92%), while the SINMAP method was dominated by the stable class (46.36%) and the low susceptibility class (48%). Both methods produced relatively similar spatial distribution patterns, with the moderate susceptibility class concentrated in the southern part of Pekalongan Regency, particularly in Petungkriyono, Lebakbarang, Paninggaran, Kandangserang, and Doro, where hilly topography and steep slopes predominate. Validation using a confusion matrix showed that the SINMAP method achieved better performance, with an accuracy of 66.67%, precision of 62.96%, recall of 85%, and an F1-score of 72.34%, whereas the SMORPH method obtained an accuracy of 58.97%, precision of 100%, recall of 20%, and an F1-score of 33.33%. Analysis of the topographic parameters revealed that TRI was the parameter most strongly associated with the distribution of landslide susceptibility. Based on these findings, the SINMAP method is more suitable for landslide susceptibility mapping and disaster mitigation planning, while the SMORPH method is more appropriate as supporting information for spatial planning and the identification of relatively stable areas.
