Abstract

Status sosial ekonomi orang tua merupakan salah satu faktor eksternal yang berperan dalam membentuk motivasi berprestasi siswa. Perbedaan kondisi ekonomi keluarga dapat memengaruhi ketersediaan fasilitas belajar, dukungan orang tua, serta lingkungan belajar yang pada akhirnya berdampak pada dorongan siswa dalam mencapai prestasi akademik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis apakah terdapat pengaruh antara status sosial ekonomi orang tua terhadap motivasi berprestasi siswa SMAN 11 Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Populasi penelitian terdiri atas seluruh siswa kelas XI SMAN 11 Jakarta Tahun Ajaran 2025/2026 yang berjumlah 216 siswa. Jumlah sampel ditentukan menggunakan rumus Slovin dengan tingkat kesalahan 5%, sehingga diperoleh 140 responden. Sampel dipilih menggunakan teknik probability sampling dengan metode simple random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui penyebaran kuesioner dengan skala Likert. Variabel Status Sosial Ekonomi (X) diukur berdasarkan lima dimensi status sosial ekonomi yang dikemukakan oleh Dimyati Mahmud, sedangkan variabel Motivasi Berprestasi (Y) diukur berdasarkan teori motivasi berprestasi yang dikembangkan oleh McClelland, Atkinson, Clark, dan Lowell. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan analisis inferensial dengan bantuan perangkat lunak IBM SPSS Statistics versi 26 serta Microsoft Excel. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian hipotesis menggunakan analisis regresi logistik ordinal, diketahui bahwa Status Sosial Ekonomi (X) berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap Motivasi Berprestasi (Y) siswa SMAN 11 Jakarta. Hal ini ditunjukkan oleh nilai koefisien estimasi sebesar 0,070, nilai Wald sebesar 16,374, serta nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 (Sig. < 0,05). Selain itu, hasil uji koefisien determinasi berdasarkan nilai Nagelkerke Pseudo R-Square menunjukkan bahwa variabel Status Sosial Ekonomi mampu menjelaskan sebesar 18,8% variasi motivasi berprestasi siswa SMAN 11 Jakarta, sedangkan sisanya sebesar 81,2% dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor lain di luar variabel yang diteliti dalam penelitian ini. Secara sosiologis, temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa status sosial ekonomi orang tua berperan sebagai lingkungan sosial yang menyediakan sumber daya dan dukungan pendidikan bagi siswa, sedangkan motivasi berprestasi berkembang melalui interaksi antara kondisi keluarga, pola pengasuhan, dan dorongan internal siswa. Kata Kunci: Status Sosial Ekonomi, Orang Tua, Motivasi Berprestasi Siswa. ***** Parents’ socioeconomic status is one of the external factors that plays a role in shaping students’ achievement motivation. Differences in family economic conditions can affect the availability of learning facilities, parental support, and the learning environment, which ultimately impact students’ drive to achieve academic success. This study aims to analyze whether there is an influence of parents’ socioeconomic status on the achievement motivation of students at SMAN 11 Jakarta. This study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The study population consisted of all 11th-grade students at SMAN 11 Jakarta for the 2025/2026 academic year, totaling 216 students. The sample size was determined using the Slovin formula with a 5% margin of error, resulting in 140 respondents. The sample was selected using probability sampling with the simple random sampling method. Data collection was conducted by distributing a questionnaire using a Likert scale. The socioeconomic status variable (X) was measured based on the five dimensions of socioeconomic status proposed by Dimyati Mahmud, while the achievement motivation variable (Y) was measured based on the achievement motivation theory developed by McClelland, Atkinson, Clark, and Lowell. The data obtained were then analyzed using descriptive and inferential analysis with the aid of IBM SPSS Statistics version 26 and Microsoft Excel. Based on the results of hypothesis testing using ordinal logistic regression analysis, it was found that socioeconomic status (X) has a significant effect on the achievement motivation (Y) of students at SMAN 11 Jakarta. This is indicated by an estimated coefficient of 0.070, a Wald value of 16.374, and a significance value of 0.000 (Sig. < 0.05). Furthermore, the results of the coefficient of determination test based on the Nagelkerke Pseudo R-Square value indicate that the socioeconomic status variable explains 18.8% of the variation in the achievement motivation of students at SMAN 11 Jakarta, while the remaining 81.2% is influenced by other factors outside the scope of the variables examined in this study. From a sociological perspective, these findings indicate that parents’ socioeconomic status serves as a social environment that provides educational resources and support for students, while the motivation to achieve develops through the interaction between family circumstances, parenting styles, and students’ internal drive.
