Abstract

Chatbot berbasis kecerdasan buatan berpotensi besar sebagai media pembelajaran adaptif di era pendidikan digital, namun pemahaman komprehensif mengenai efektivitas dan implementasinya, khususnyadi Indonesia, masih terbatas. Makalah ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi efektivitas chatbot sebagai media pembelajaran, memetakan model desain yang paling efektif, serta mengidentifikasi tantangan implementasinya berdasarkan literature ilmiah. Kajian menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kepustakaan dengan metode narrative literature review, mensintesis sepuluh artikel utama dari dua basis datautama (Google Scholar dan Scopus) melalui empat tahap seleksi adaptasi PRISMA terbarukan, dianalisis dengan teknik tematik, sintesis naratif, komparatif dan gap analysis. Hasil kajian menunjukkan chatbot efektif meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif, motivasi, dan keterlibatan peserta didik, selaras dengan teori konstruktivisme, pembelajaran multimedia, konektivisme, self-determination dan kerucut pengalaman Dale. Namun, implementasinya di Indonesia masih terkendala keterbatasan NLP berbahasa Indonesia, kesenjangan infrastruktur media pembelajaran, isu privasi data dan kesiapan tenaga pendidik. Kajian merekomendasikan penelitian empiris lanjutan pada konteks pendidikan vokasional-teknik. Artificial intelligence based chatbots hold significant potential as adaptive learning media in the era of digital education; however, a comprehensive understanding of their effectiveness and implementation particularly in Indonesia remains limited. This paper aims to identify the effectiveness of chatbots as a learning medium, map the most effective design models, and identify the challenges of their implementation based on the scientific literature. The study employs a library research approach using the narrative literature review method, synthesizing ten key articles from two major databases (Google Scholar and Scopus) through a four-stage selection process adapted from the updated PRISMA guideline, analyzed using thematic, narrative synthesis, comparative and gap analysis techniques. The findings indicate that chatbots effectively enhance students' cognitive learning outcomes, motivation, and engagement, in line with constructivist theory, multimedia learning theory, connectivism, self-determination theory, and Dale's Cone of Experience. However, their implementation in Indonesia is still hindered by limitations in Indonesian-language NLP, gaps in learning infrastructure, data privacy concerns and educators' readiness. The study recommends further empirical research in the context of vocational-technical education.
