Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi bentuk dan pelaksanaan praktik filantropi yang dijalankan oleh Muhammadiyah Abadijaya melalui Masjid Jami’ Al-Bahar dan TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal 27 di lingkungan sekitar Pasar Agung, Kota Depok. Penelitian ini juga bertujuan menganalisis etos pengabdian dan penataan amal para aktor melalui tipe ideal inner-worldly asceticism Max Weber. Fokus penelitian mencakup praktik filantropi sosial-keagamaan, pendidikan, dan karitatif yang diwujudkan melalui pengajian, TPA, kegiatan Ramadan, pelayanan ibadah, zakat fitrah, kurban, Jumat Berkah, serta santunan sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus yang berfokus pada praktik filantropi Muhammadiyah dan Aisyiyah Abadijaya di lingkungan sekitar Pasar Agung, Kota Depok. Informan penelitian dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling dan snowball sampling, yang meliputi pengurus Muhammadiyah dan Aisyiyah, pengelola Masjid Jami’ Al-Bahar, pengelola TK ABA 27 Pasar Agung, serta masyarakat sekitar yang terlibat atau menerima manfaat dari kegiatan filantropi. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif terbatas, dan studi dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, serta penarikan kesimpulan dan verifikasi. Keabsahan data diperiksa melalui triangulasi sumber dan triangulasi teknik dengan membandingkan keterangan antar-informan serta hasil wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa praktik filantropi Muhammadiyah dan Aisyiyah di Pasar Agung tidak hanya berbentuk bantuan material, tetapi juga pembinaan keagamaan, pendidikan anak, pelayanan ibadah, dan penguatan solidaritas sosial. Praktik tersebut tidak hanya ditujukan kepada anggota Muhammadiyah, tetapi juga menjangkau anak-anak, orang tua murid, duafa, janda, pemulung, warga kontrakan, dan kelompok rentan lainnya. Temuan penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa tindakan para aktor digerakkan oleh ajaran Al-Ma’un, kesalehan sosial, hidup sederhana, kerja sebagai ibadah, serta orientasi kebermanfaatan bagi masyarakat sekitar. Secara konseptual, filantropi dijalankan melalui Muhammadiyah sebagai aktor kolektif, diarahkan oleh Al-Ma’un, memperlihatkan etos Inner-worldly asceticism, dan ditata melalui Rational Ordering of Life dalam kehidupan sosial-keagamaan masyarakat lokal. ***** This study aims to identify the forms and implementation of philanthropic practices carried out by Muhammadiyah Abadijaya through Masjid Jami’ Al-Bahar and TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal 27 in the area surrounding Pasar Agung, Depok City. It also seeks to analyze the actors’ ethos of service and the organization of charitable activities through Max Weber’s ideal type of inner-worldly asceticism. The study focuses on socio-religious, educational, and charitable philanthropic practices manifested through religious study groups, Qur’anic education for children, Ramadan activities, worship services, zakat fitrah, qurban, Jumat Berkah, and social assistance. This study employs a qualitative approach using a case study method, focusing on the philanthropic practices of Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Abadijaya in the area surrounding Pasar Agung, Depok City. The informants were selected through purposive and snowball sampling and included Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah administrators, administrators of Masjid Jami’ Al-Bahar, administrators of TK ABA 27 Pasar Agung, and local residents who were involved in or benefited from the philanthropic activities. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, limited participant observation, and documentation, and were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, consisting of data reduction, data display, conclusion drawing, and verification. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation by comparing information across informants and examining the consistency of data obtained from interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings show that Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah philanthropic practices at Pasar Agung are not limited to material assistance, but also include religious guidance, children’s education, worship services, and the strengthening of social solidarity. These practices are not only directed toward Muhammadiyah members, but also reach children, parents of students, the poor, widows, waste pickers, rented-house residents, and other vulnerable groups. The findings reveal that the actors’ actions are driven by the teachings of Al-Ma’un, social piety, simple living, work as worship, and an orientation toward social benefit for the surrounding community. Conceptually, philanthropy is carried out through Muhammadiyah as a collective actor, guided by Al-Ma’un, reflects an ethos of Inner-worldly asceticism, and is organized through Rational Ordering of Life in local socio-religious life.
