Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang bangun dan menguji kelayakan Trainer Kit Pneumatik berbasis Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) sebagai media pembelajaran pada mata kuliah Elektro Pneumatik dan Hidrolik di Program Studi Pendidikan Teknik Elektro, Fakultas Teknik, Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh hasil survei pendahuluan yang menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar mahasiswa (89,5%) mengalami kesulitan memahami materi Elektro Pneumatik karena pembelajaran masih didominasi teori dan simulasi, sementara ketersediaan alat praktikum di laboratorium sangat terbatas. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode rekayasa teknik (engineering research) yang terdiri atas lima tahapan, yaitu perencanaan (plan), analisis (analysis), desain (design), konstruksi (construction), dan penerapan (applied). Produk yang dihasilkan berupa Trainer Kit Pneumatik berbasis PLC beserta modul praktikum yang disusun sesuai capaian pembelajaran mata kuliah. Uji unjuk kerja menunjukkan bahwa trainer dapat berfungsi dengan baik sesuai program yang dirancang. Uji kelayakan yang dilakukan terhadap ahli materi, ahli media, uji coba perorangan, dan uji coba terbatas mahasiswa memperoleh skor berturut-turut sebesar 98%, 87,5%, 80,7%, dan 85,5%. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, Trainer Kit Pneumatik berbasis PLC dinyatakan sangat laik digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran untuk memperkuat pemahaman konsep dan keterampilan praktik mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Elektro Pneumatik dan Hidrolik.***** This study aims to design, build, and evaluate the feasibility of a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)-based Pneumatic Trainer Kit as a learning medium for the Electro-Pneumatics and Hydraulics course in the Electrical Engineering Education Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Jakarta. The study was motivated by preliminary survey results indicating that 89.5% of students found it difficult to understand Electro-Pneumatics material, since learning still relied heavily on theory and simulation while laboratory practicum tools remained very limited. The research employed an engineering research method comprising five stages: planning, analysis, design, construction, and application. The resulting product is a PLC-based Pneumatic Trainer Kit accompanied by a practicum module developed in accordance with the course learning outcomes. Performance testing showed that the trainer functioned properly according to its designed program. Feasibility testing involving material experts, media experts, an individual student trial, and a limited student trial yielded scores of 98%, 87.5%, 80.7%, and 85.5%, respectively. These results indicate that the PLC-based Pneumatic Trainer Kit is highly feasible for use as a learning medium to strengthen students' conceptual understanding and practical skills in the Electro-Pneumatics and Hydraulics course.
