Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode pembelajaran IMPROVE berbantuan LKPD terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 61 Jakarta. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain posttest-only kontrol group design. Populasi penelitian mencakup seluruh siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 61 Jakarta, dengan pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling yang menghasilkan kelas X-1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas X-6 sebagai kelas kontrol. Kelas eksperimen mendapatkan perlakuan menggunakan metode pembelajaran IMPROVE berbantuan LKPD, sedangkan kelas kontrol menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional berupa metode pembelajaran ceramah. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengukur kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis berupa tes uraian yang telah dinyatakan valid (r_1=0,9035; r_2=0,9424) dan reliabel (r_11=0,8144). Teknis analisis data menggunakan uji t pada taraf signifikansi α=5% setelah data hasil uji prasyarat dinyatakan berdistribusi normal dan memiliki varians yang homogen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata skor kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis, diperoleh nilai t_hitung=2,228>t_tabel=1,99897 sehingga H_1 diterima. Selanjutnya, hasil perhitungan ukuran besar pengaruh (effect size) diperoleh sebesar 0,5573 yang termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan metode pembelajaran IMPROVE berbantuan LKPD terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 61 Jakarta. Kata Kunci: Berpikir Kritis Matematis, LKPD, Metode pembelajaran IMPROVE ***** This study aimed to investigate the effect of the IMPROVE learning method assisted by Student Worksheets (LKPD) on the mathematical critical thinking skills of tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 61 Jakarta. This study employed a quasi-experimental research design using a posttest-only control group design. The population consisted of all tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 61 Jakarta. The sample was selected using the cluster random sampling technique, resulting in Class X-1 as the experimental group and Class X-6 as the control group. The experimental group received instruction through the IMPROVE learning method assisted by Student Worksheets (LKPD), whereas the kontrol group was taught using the conventional lecture method. The research instrument used to measure students' mathematical critical thinking skills was an essay test that had been confirmed to be valid (r_1=0,9035; r_2=0,9424) and reliable (r_11=0,8144). The data were analyzed using an independent-samples t-test at a significance level of α = 0.05 after the prerequisite tests indicated that the data were normally distributed and had homogeneous variances. The findings revealed that the mean score of mathematical critical thinking skills in the experimental group was higher than that of the control group. Based on the hypothesis testing, the calculated t-value exceeded the critical t-value (t_statistic=2,228>t_critical=1,99897 ), leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis. Furthermore, the effect size was 0.5573, indicating a medium effect. Therefore, it can be concluded that the IMPROVE learning method assisted by Student Worksheets (LKPD) had a significant positive effect on the mathematical critical thinking skills of tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 61 Jakarta.
