Abstract

Rumah tidak hanya dipahami sebagai bangunan fisik, tetapi sebagai ruang hidup yang terbentuk melalui pengalaman, relasi, dan memori. Penciptaan ini bertujuan mengembangkan konsep kompleksitas rumah ke dalam karya seni instalasi melalui eksplorasi konsep, visual, material, dan teknik. Pemahaman rumah sebagai lived space mengacu pada Cornelia Rezeanu yang menempatkan ruang domestik sebagai ruang yang dialami melalui tubuh, emosi, dan ingatan. Konsep tersebut dipertemukan dengan pendekatan complex systems yang memandang suatu sistem sebagai keterhubungan berbagai unsur yang menghasilkan kondisi dan makna baru melalui interaksi antarelemen. Dalam konteks penciptaan ini, kompleksitas rumah dipahami melalui keterjalinan ruang, penghuni, pengalaman, material, relasi, dan waktu yang terus mengalami perubahan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode Artistic Research melalui tahapan observasi, eksplorasi, eksperimen, visualisasi, dan refleksi. Proses penciptaan dilakukan melalui penelusuran arsip visual rumah, eksplorasi material, serta pemanfaatan limbah tekstil. Hasil penciptaan berupa karya seni instalasi yang mengolah fragmen elemen rumah dan arsip material untuk merepresentasikan hubungan antara struktur fisik dan pengalaman domestik. Penciptaan ini menunjukkan bahwa kompleksitas rumah tidak terletak pada kerumitan bentuk arsitekturalnya, tetapi pada keterhubungan berbagai unsur yang membentuk dan mengubah makna rumah dari waktu ke waktu. This artistic creation aims to develop the concept of the complexity of home into an installation artwork through the exploration of conceptual, visual, material, and technical aspects. The understanding of home as a lived space refers to Cornelia Rezeanu, who positions domestic space as a space experienced through the body, emotions, and memories. This concept is connected with the complex systems approach, which views a system as an interconnected set of elements that generates new conditions and meanings through interactions among its components. In the context of this artistic creation, the complexity of home is understood through the interconnectedness of space, inhabitants, experiences, materials, relationships, and time, which continuously undergo change. This research employs a qualitative approach using the Artistic Research method through the stages of observation, exploration, experimentation, visualization, and reflection. The creation process involves tracing visual archives of the home, exploring materials, and utilizing textile waste. The resulting installation artwork processes fragments of domestic elements and material archives to represent the relationship between physical structure and domestic experience. This artistic creation demonstrates that the complexity of home does not lie in the complexity of its architectural form, but in the interconnectedness of various elements that shape and transform the meaning of home over time.
