Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui secara empiris apakah terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan keikutsertaan anak dalam kompetisi terhadap kepercayaan diri anak usia 7 – 8 tahun kelas II di Sekolah Dasar Kecamatan Kramat Jati. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Ex-Post Facto. Sampel yang diambil adalah siswa kelas II Sekolah Dasar Kelurahan Kampung Tengah dengan menggunakan teknik Simple Random Sampling. Variabel yang diteliti terdiri atas dua variabel yaitu variabel kepercayaan diri anak ditinjau dari keikutsertaan dalam kompetisi yang dibagi menjadi dua kelompok yaitu : X1 dan X2 . Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah dengan menggunakan uji t pada taraf signifikan α= 0,05 . Hasil penelitian yang telah dilaksanakan menghasilkan thitung sebesar 2,369 dengan ttabel sebesar 2.04(x = 0,05, n = 30). Hal ini berarti bahwa thitung > ttabel dengan taraf signifikan 0,05 dengan n1+ n2 -2 = 28 adalah 2,04, maka thitung (2,37) > ttabel (2,04), berarti terdapat pengaruh frekuensi lomba terhadap kepercayaan diri siswa. Ini berarti hipotesis H0 ditolak H1 diterima = terdapat pengaruh keikutsertaan anak dalam kompetisi terhadap kepercayaan diri anak usia 7 – 8 kelas dua sekolah dasar. Dengan demikian, kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah terdapat pengaruh kompetisi terhadap kepercayaan diri anak. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah dapat dijadikan pertimbangan orang tua dan guru. Kompetisi memang cenderung membawa dampak positif bila anak sudah siap dan mempunyai kemampuan yang cukup baik Untuk mengikuti kompetisi, sebaiknya orang tua tidak memaksakan kehendaknya pada anak untuk berkompetisi karena hal ini akan berdampak pada kepercayaan diri bila anak belum siap atau belum mempunyai kemampuan yang baik dalam berkompetisi. ***** This study aims to determine empirically whether there is a significant influence participation of children in a competition against the confidence of children aged 7-8 years class II in Kramat Jati Elementary School District. The method used in this study is the Ex-Post facto. The samples taken were students at the second Middle Village Elementary School Village using Simple Random Sampling technique. Variables examined consisted of two variables, namely self-confidence variables in terms of child participation in the competition were divided into two groups: X1 and X2. The data analysis technique used is by using the t test at significant level α = 0.05. The results that have been implemented to produce t of 2.369 with ttable at 2:04 (x = 0.05, n = 30). This means that t> ttable with significance level 0.05 with n1 + n2 -2 = 28 is 2.04, then t (2.37)> ttable (2.04), means any influence on the race frequency of self-confidence of students. This means that the hypothesis H0 rejected H1 accepted = any influence participation of children in a competition against the confidence of children aged 7-8 second-grade elementary school. Thus, the conclusions of this study is that there is a competition effect on the confidence of children. The implications of this research is to be taken into consideration parents and teachers. Competition is likely to bring positive impact when the child is ready and has sufficient capability to follow the competition, parents should not impose its will on the children to compete as this will impact on confidence when the child is not ready or do not yet have a good ability in competing.
