Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh media film pendek terhadap kemampuan menulis teks cerita pendek peserta didik kelas XI SMA Tunas Markatin. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain Pretest-Posttest, Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas XI IPA dan IPS di SMA Tunas Markatin Jakarta Timur. Sampel dipilih menggunakan teknik Saturation Sampling menjadi kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes unjuk kerja menulis cerita pendek peserta didik kelas XI. Teknik analisis data meliputi: (1) statistik deskriptif, dan (2) statistik inferensial dengan Uji-t. Hasil penelitian ini adalah pertama, keterampilan menulis teks cerita pendek peserta didik kelas XI SMA Tunas Markatin Jakarta Timur pada kelas kontrol memperoleh nilai rata-rata 50,23 yang berklasifikasi Sangat Kurang. Kedua, keterampilan menulis teks cerita pendek peserta didik kelas XI SMA Tunas Markatin Jakarta Timur pada kelas eksperimen memperoleh nilai rata-rata 77,47 yang berklsifikasi cukup baik. Ketiga, terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dalam penggunaan media film pendek terhadap keterampilan menulis teks cerita pendek peserta didik kelas XI SMA Tunas Markatin Jakarta Timur karena t_hitung > t_tabel (4,870 > 2,048). Terakhir, media film pendek dapat diimplikasikan terhadap teks lainnya seperti teks novel. The aims of this study was to determine the effect of short film media on the ability to write short story texts of class XI SMA Tunas Markatin. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest design, nonequivalent control group design. The subjects in this study were students of class XI IPA and IPS at SMA Tunas Markatin, East Jakarta. Samples were selected using the Saturation Sampling technique in the experimental class and the control class. The research instrument used was a performance test in writing short stories of class XI students. Data analysis techniques include: (1) descriptive statistics, and (2) inferential statistics with t-test. The results of this study are first, the short story text writing skills of the XI grade students of SMA Tunas Markatin East Jakarta in the control class obtained an average score of 50.23 which is classified as Very Poor. Second, the short story text writing skills of students of class XI SMA Tunas Markatin, East Jakarta, in the experimental class obtained an average score of 77.47 which is quite good. Third, there is a significant influence on the use of short film media on the short story text writing skills of students of class XI SMA Tunas Markatin, East Jakarta because t_hitung > t_tabel (4,870 > 2,048). Finally, the short film media can be implicated in other texts such as novel texts.
