Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menggambarkan pelaksanaan peran humas sekolah dalam membangun citra positif di SD Muhammadiyah 24 Jakarta Timur. Metoda penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data terdiri dari pengamatan, studi dokumentasi dan wawancara. Responden (Informan) terdiri dari kepala sekolah, wakil kepala sekolah, guru mata pelajaran, dan orang tua peserta didik. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis melalui koding dan reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Untuk menguji keabsahan data, digunakan triangulasi sumber, metode, dan teori. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa humas sekolah berperan dalam membangun cita positif sekolah. (1) Berperan sebagai komunikator dari sejak pengumpulan hingga penyampaian informasi kepada publik yang dilakukan secara langsung maupun tidak langsung melalui media cetak atau media sosial; (2) Berperan sebagai pembina hubungan maupun kerjasama dengan pihak internal maupun eksternal, melalui kegiatan serta penyediaan fasilitas pendidikan. Kerjasama diawali dengan pembuatan MOU, penetapan program kerja bersama, penetapan hak dan kewajiban masing-masing pihak, dan ikut serta dalam kegiatan sekolah; (3) Berperan sebagai pembentuk sikap sesuai visi misi, tujuan dan kurikulum sekolah, yang dilakukan melalui pembiasaan, pelatihan dan kegiatan ko-kurikuler. Kata Kunci : Humas sekolah, citra positif This research aims to describe the implementation of school public relation’s roles in building a positive image at SD Muhammadiyah 24, East Jakarta. This research method used is descriptive, with data collection techniques used for this research are observations, study documentation and interviews. The respondents (informants) are principals, vice principals, subject teachers, and students' parents. The collected data are analyzed through coding and data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. To test the validity of the data, triangulation of sources, methods, and theories are used. The results showed that school public relation has a role in building positive image at school. (1) Playing a role as communicator from collecting to sending information to the public both directly or indirectly through print or social media; (2) Playing a role as relationship builder and cooperation with internal and external public, through activities and the provision of educational facilities. Collaboration begins with the creating an MOU, establishing a joint work program, determining the rights and obligations of each part, and participating in school activities; (3) Playing a role in forming attitudes according to vision, mission, goals and curriculum of the school, which is carried out through habituation, training and co-curricular activities.
