Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui organologi drum bambu buatan Indonesian Bamboo Community asal Bandung Barat ditinjau dari proses pembuatan. Hal ini berdasarkan latar belakang bahan dasar bambu merupakan bahan dasar yang tidak lazim digunakan dalam alat musik barat, terutama drum. Bambu juga merupakan komoditas yang banyak digunakan masyarakat Jawa Barat. Objek penelitian ini adalah drum bambu buatan Indonesian Bamboo Community asal Bandung Barat. Metode penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif untuk menjelaskan organologi drum bambu Indonesian Bamboo Community yang ditinjau dari proses pembuatannya yang dilakukan dengan studi pustaka, triangulasi untuk keabsahan data, wawancara, dokumentasi dan menguraikannya dalam bentuk narasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah proses pembuatan drum bambu buatan Indonesian Bamboo Community melalui proses yang sangat panjang dari pemilihan bahan dasar, penjemuran bambu, pengawetan bambu, penghalusan bambu, pengikisan baambu, perekatan gabungan balok bambu, dan akhirnya menjadi drum. Drum bambu buatan Indonesian Bamboo Community merupakan suatu inovasi yang kreatif. Dari segi estetika dan bentuk sudah sangat tercapai. Pembuatan drum dari bahan dasar bambu masih belum efektif dalam segi waktu pembuatan. Pengoptimalan alat dalam proses pembuatan drum bambu merupakan saran yang dianjurkan agar pembuatan drum bambu lebih efisien. Kata kunci : Drum bambu, Indonesian Bamboo Community, Organologi ******************** The purpose of this research is to determine the organology of bamboo drums made by Indonesian Bamboo Community from West Bandung Focused onThe Process of Making. This is based on the background of bamboo is a basic material that is not commonly used in western musical instruments, especially on drums. Bamboo is also a commodity that is widely used by the people of West Java. The object of this research is a bamboo drum made by Indonesian Bamboo Community from West Bandung. This research method is a descriptive qualitative research method to explain the organology of Indonesian Bamboo Community with the focus on the process of making. The research process carried out by literature study, triangulation for the validity of data, interviews, documentation and elaborating it in narrative form. The results of this research are the process of making bamboo drums made by Indonesian Bamboo Community through a very long process of selecting basic materials, drying bamboo, preserving bamboo, smoothing bamboo, eroding bamboo, gluing combined bamboo blocks, and finally becoming a drum. The bamboo drum made by Indonesian Bamboo Community is a creative innovation. In terms of aesthetics and shape has been very achieved. The manufacture of drums from bamboo is still ineffective in terms of manufacturing time. Optimizing tools in the process of making bamboo drums is a recommended suggestion for making bamboo drums more efficiently. Keywords : Drum Bamboo, Indonesian Bamboo Community, Organology
