Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui implementasi model inquiry based learning dalam mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SD dalam pembelajaran IPS. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kajian pustaka dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif dari model Miler dan Huberman. Teknik analisis data melalui tiga tahapan yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan atau verifikasi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah dengan mengkaji berbagai sumber pustaka yang relevan dengan masalah peneliti. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model inquiry based learning dapat mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SD dalam pembelajaran IPS. Model inquiry based learning membuat siswa percaya diri dan aktif di dalam proses pembelajaran karena berpusat pada siswa. Dengan adanya implementasi model inquiry based learning melatih siswa untuk berpikir secara logis dan kritis dalam mencari informasi yang berkaitan dengan materi pelajaran. Untuk mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa sebaiknya dalam pembelajaran IPS menerapkan model pembelajaran yang dapat membuat siswa memahami materi bukan sekadar menghafal, tujuannya yaitu agar terciptanya suasana pembelajaran yang menyenangkan dan menjadi pembelajaran yang bermakna. *************** This study aims to determine the implementation of inquiry based learning models in developing critical thinking skills of elementary students in social studies learning. This type of research is a literature review with qualitative descriptive methods from the Miler and Huberman models. Data analysis techniques through three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions or verification. The data collection technique used is to examine various sources of literature that are relevant to the problem of the researcher. Literature sources studied come from journals, theses, books and other relevant data sources. The results showed that the inquiry based learning model could develop the critical thinking skills of elementary students in social studies learning. The inquiry based learning model makes students confident and active in the learning process because it is student-centered. With the implementation of inquiry based learning model, train students to think logically and critically in finding information related to subject matter. To develop students' critical thinking skills in social studies learning should apply learning models that can make students understand the material not just to memorize, the goal is to create a pleasant learning atmosphere and become meaningful learning.
